"The pros arent that good."Who is this guy?
He's a noted bookie, gambler, poker player--used to run around with Stu Ungar, too. Kind of impersonable, kind of a d-bag, but a decent poker player. If you catch the footage from the ME that Scotty won, there's a little vignette about Scotty cracking AA and JJ(?) with AsQs, to eliminate two players and set the final table that year at 5 players. Allan Boston had the AA in that hand, and by all rights, should've gone to that final table as the chip leader. Instead, he went home 6th.

I appreciate him sharing the deep dark secret about smooth calling a re-raise w/ AA. Man you sure do put a different slant on things Allen, ty for the tip.

Just because he hasn't been on TV doesn't mean he is nobody. He is an amazing handicapper.

I picked up on what he said also. I can't believe how naeve he is with the AA thinking he is a superstar. Many people would make that play and many would make the reraise and both are right. Plus if he thinks about the hand logically there is no way he can't win all that guys chips however it is played. He is not likely to bet the guy off tens preflop especlly not on the flop so it was a cold deck. Big deal.

Right on as usual bro.
Quit coke years ago. Never have been a bookie, strictly a gambler. Most would rereaise the aces. I did not want to commit many chips out of position, even with aces, early in the Wsop where there are many bad players and lots of play. A reraise by me and a bet on the flop after the ace hits would likely make 1010 uncallable. Not quite a cold deck. Chip Reese commented how well I played the hand. I am no pro, never commented that I am anything special. I just am allowing that poker pros are not that great. Many got lucky at the right time, many play tournaments well, but cash game play leaves much to be desired, many are no limit specialist and can not play a pure logic game like 7 stud well. For the record, I have had only one losing year in college bball. The fact that it was last year makes it meaningful. So no, I do not go broke and borrow every year. People should know someone before they write. You people seem to worship Daniel. I too think he is cool. Ask Daniel who helped him out with his heads up 7 stud games with Greenstein? Although I play very few tournaments, ask Daniel if I can play? Perhaps you will listen to any past or future interviews with a more open mind. The bad beat I took was while I was the chip leader at the Bellagio WPT TOC 2 years ago, I got all the money in with aces and 10s vs 2 kings and the river was a king. Winning that pot would have had me double my nearest competitor during the 3rd day. Scotty was to my right. That is poker.
