Stylin_Fish 0
I dont' care if this has already been talked about, I'm to lazy to do a search for it so if you have a problem, kiss my veteran ass for I more than likely have more posts then you which means I am a better human being than you.Why did they implement this stupid all-in button? Isn't part of the reason you can go all in is to intimidate your opponent by pushing a huge stack of chips into the middle? Now you're just throwing a litte button and declaring all in. I guess you can just bet all but one of your chips and push it into the middle.

no not baxter 0
Players each have an all-in button to use for their all-ins rather than having to push all $10,000 of their chips into the middle. This is the first time the World Series of Poker has implemented such a device to improve efficiency.
eYank 0
my bad yeah i see it here for anyone that missed itPlayers to Use All-In ButtonPlayers each have an all-in button to use for their all-ins rather than having to push all $10,000 of their chips into the middle. This is the first time the World Series of Poker has implemented such a device to improve efficiency. i think its like a dealer button that u put in the middle instead of pushing all ur chips
Stylin_Fish 0
Yes, and it's a stupid idea. It takes away the intimidation factor of seing 150k being pushed into the middle.
rocksquid 50
I saw it first used in the poker dome.

Dhall901 0
Juice +1, integrity of poker -24. It's a business my man, the tournament hosts don't give a damn who wins, or who blows the mortgage payment. "Inventions" such as this are simply a more efficient way for them to take their cut more often and more frequently.
AcesUp46 0
It does help to clear the confusion. A lot of times, players say all-in and don't push their chips in. And the dealer does not repeat that the player is all-in. Other players may miss the all-in action and make a mistake. And yeah, if you want to initimidate your opponents by whipping your 10inch monster around, you can just do it by betting all but one of your chips. FourFlusher 0
Just said it on the other thread...the speed poker show uses it. There has been controversey before with players/dealers not hearing the declaration. Every body does not push before the next guy acts, sometimes they just announce. The button is a relatively good idea. From watching speed poker, the button soon has the same impact as pushing, and, I'm sure you can still push as well if you want.
The Czar 0
The WSOP has jumped the shark. Seriously, this is ridiculous. I'm surprised they did it for no other reason than because all the chips going in looks good on tv.
CrazyJoe 0
am i wrong in assuming you dont HAVE to use the button, if you want to INTIMIDATE the other guy by pushing your huge stack in, you still can right? I don't see what the problem is here?
Actuary 3
who cares.it's intimidating to see lots of chips go in?no.no more than knowing you have to call that many..I don't need to see them moving.might hurt picking up a tell, but that's it.
Johnny Utah 0
It helps the plethora of internet only players in the ME that look like re-re's when trying to handle chips for the first time.
delphi12 0
This has already started happening in LA. Hustler casino now uses it in their cash games and may implement in their tourneys as well. I think its a good idea.. It also clears up the confusion when someone pushes a large stack out and leaves a few chips on their card. I've always thought that meant all in so i push all my chips (usually covering the other guy). When I win, the guy keeps his 2 or 3 yellows that he was using as a chip protector. Often I object and claim those are my chips to which the dealer (STUPIDLY) asks the guy, "uhmm were you all-in?" Of course the guy says NO. This will clear that confusion up. Now, if you dont use the disc, you arent ALL IN.
JadeTiger 0
Actually the All-In button could be a good thing. Say you WANT someone to call your all-in and dont want them scared off by the sheer stack in front of you...the all-in button makes it a lot less intimidating. I think this will induce more solid play and less loosy goosy big stack bullying. Though the experienced player will not see a problem with/without the button. Its the effing Main Event, deal with it!
Kain8 0
If everyone went all-in like Humberto Brenes does, the poker world would be a better place.
keith crime 8
I'm guessing it's ESPN's faultThe only thing they show is all insThey should be showing interesting hands where players bet the flop and the turn but all they care about is Juana is all in with 10 10 vs Men's AKYou see it in certain magazine's where they have a hand of the day and both players are all in pre-flopIs there any less interesting hand than a guy all in with JJ vs someone's AKshow me a guy with 10 10 going against a guy with 67 suited and the board is A K 6that's poker

SBriand 4
Since I can't push my big stack in and say all in and look all menacing I would just take the button and whip it at someone's head and say "IM ALL IN *****!
keith crime 8
Maybe they did this for that guy who had no hands that played last year
xzanos 0
what if you have $24671$24675 maybe...But seriously, 10k in chips is one stack of 20 chips. It's not that hard to push in one stack.
king_tanner 84
I think its intimidating. At a house game you can have a million meaningless white chips and red chips, but when you throw that one black chip in its scary. I'd be scared of that one all in chip.
