Isn't part of the reason you can go all in is to intimidate your opponent by pushing a huge stack of chips into the middle? Now you're just throwing a litte button and declaring all in. It's a business my man, the tournament hosts don't give a damn who wins, or who blows the mortgage payment. And the dealer does not repeat that the player is all-in. Other players may miss the all-in action and make a mistake.And yeah, if you want to initimidate your opponents by whipping your 10inch monster around, you can just do it by betting all but one of your chips. There has been controversey before with players/dealers not hearing the declaration. Every body does not push before the next guy acts, sometimes they just announce. The button is a relatively good idea.From watching speed poker, the button soon has the same impact as pushing, and, I'm sure you can still push as well if you want. Link to post Share on other sites

I think its a good idea.. It also clears up the confusion when someone pushes a large stack out and leaves a few chips on their card. I've always thought that meant all in so i push all my chips (usually covering the other guy). When I win, the guy keeps his 2 or 3 yellows that he was using as a chip protector. Often I object and claim those are my chips to which the dealer (STUPIDLY) asks the guy, "uhmm were you all-in?" Of course the guy says NO. This will clear that confusion up. Now, if you dont use the disc, you arent ALL IN. Link to post Share on other sites

Say you WANT someone to call your all-in and dont want them scared off by the sheer stack in front of you...the all-in button makes it a lot less intimidating. I think this will induce more solid play and less loosy goosy big stack bullying. Though the experienced player will not see a problem with/without the button.
