jjgoldy5 0
Hand 1, NLO8 (.25/.50) (Broadway + Redraw vs Broadway with better redraw?)First hand, villain in hand is a little donkish, but usually a pretty solid player.I pick up AKQJ no suits in BB.Flop is AQ10 with 2 spades. I check, villain in MP bets pot (3$), I call.I check the non-spade 4 on the turn, villain goes all in for 30$, we have villain covered.Obviously we have the nut straight and the full house redraw, but how often are we getting freerolled for the flush?Hand 2, PLO8 (.25/.50) (Promo-raise?) I pick up A J 3 4 on the button and limp in.The flop comes 7 8 10 BB is first to act and leads out for 1$ into a 5$ pot. This screams low draw to me at this level...even this bet means he has a straight, we are in great shape.Next to act, a player in MP comes in for a full pot raise..Protecting a straight methinks... It folds to me.Is this a good situation to come in for a re-pot? I did so, in an attempt to get the other low draw to fold, and draw to the best low and nut flush against the isolated straight.Good/Bad?
bdc30 0
I call the first, I fold the second.
Chamonyx 0
Hand 1: IF he has the flush redraw, you are about even: you have 6 redraw outs, his outs depend where the suits are on the board:AQ: 7AT or QT: 8 if you hold the matching suit, otherwise 7Your pot odds are 10:13 so if you KNEW he had str8 with flush draw it would be close. The chance he just has a str8 or a flush draw make it an easy call IMO.Hand 2: I often push here, but might flat call about 30% of the time to see the turn: I don't mind building the pot with my flush draw. Turns out I was freerolling.
bdc30 0
Do you push Hand 2 with the naked A3 + Flush Draw or is the CF protection necessary?I say no. It's not even counterfeit protection, as you don't even have the current nut low, and need a deuce and only a deuce to hit it. I think you lose a lot of money chasing after hands like this. You have no other reasonable draw for the high pot, except for a club, and your low is not as strong as it needs to be. Find a better spot.

Shorthanded, you can jam the pot extremely hard to make it too expensive for a naked low to chase. Thereby giving you the best low draw (in the hand) and best high draw. Even if both players call, we are still in good shape: http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1855735 (only slightly +EV)But if we get the low to fold....http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1855738 (Very +EV)I think the counterfeit protection is important because if you just have a naked low, you lose out on 6 outs to the low (3 aces, 3 3's...or 2's if you have A2)It is a slight drop in EV if you dont have CF protection, but still worth a push : http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1855740

Is this not full ring??I still fold, though. Or just flat call.

Chamonyx 0
Do you push Hand 2 with the naked A3 + Flush Draw or is the CF protection necessary? After a bet and a raise it is pretty important.Incidentally, I am assuming deep stacks here. The shorter the stacks, the easier the push.
bdc30 0
I just meant short as in 3 players in the hand3 remaining players in a full ring game does not mean you're playing shorthanded. If it were a 3-player table per se, where a ton more cards are buried, your hand is so much better than it is at a full ring game where you can likely figure that the only guys left have your low draw in a lot of trouble. If you had some other way except for a club to make a high hand, I'd advocate a call or push here, but in this spot, I think you save a ton of money by folding.

Make sense? If there were 8 players still in the hand, its less likely that im getting a fold, since it would be more profitable for the player to stay in for half the pot with A2, however, the raise is an attempt to push him out of the pot, and get in 60/40 against the straight.
