Well, I just got my a#$ handed to me on ultimate for a few hours. Here's the highlights. I'm sure I tilted a little towards the end. Hand 1: Check-call the river. Calling on a 4-straight board on the turn implies either something that can improve (2 pr, or trips, flush draw if there is one), or the straight. You'll get more bets from crap trying to drive you out than you would calls from any single underpair/board pair there.Hand 2: Nothing you can do. Well done, censored happens.Hand 3: Again, I check call the river. Again, I'm a wuss. I just don't see many people kick in a turn raise with either a single pair or overcards. Lower overpairs are quite possible, so again, you have to show it down. I dunno. How you played it is probably better than how I would, honestly (again, me=wuss).Hand 4: After putting in the last bet on the turn, you lead the river and then just call the river raise. I think that's all good. I might checkraise the flop, but you had a good hand, good aggression, if you lost you're SOL. MAYBE you can call the 3-bet on the turn and check-call the river, if you want to become a weak-tight loser like me who never gets enough action.

In the last hand:

Turn (board: 3c 3d Ts 7h):  BetItAll33 checks. TheWas bets $.50. BetItAll33  raises to $1. TheWas re-raises to $1.50. BetItAll33  re-raises to $2. TheWas calls.
Should I just call the 3 bet and check-call the river?

After following OP's link from another thread (and I'm flattered that you want my advice here :-) ), I'm agreeing with these assessments for the most part -- although I also tend to be a bit of a wuss, but I think it would be justified in these cases considering how many people are seeing each flop and how coordinated some of the boards are.My initial assessment was that you should have gone harder at the flop on #4, but the more I think about it, the more I'm not sure what it would have accomplished. If he has TT, you're not going to get him to fold, and if he has a higher pocket pair, he might slow down on later rounds if you're aggressive on the flop, but it isn't likely heads-up. On the other hand, I don't know if trips are strong enough to slowplay, even with the ace kicker, and I don't know what second-best hand he is likely to make on the turn -- he probably already has the second-best hand, unless he's holding AK or something. I also might have been tempted to slow down at his re-raise on the turn, calling that and then check-calling the river (especially since the queen is a bit of a scare card). But like Awful says, that's a bit of a weak-tight play, and I'm not sure if the math justifies it. Maybe you need someone who ISN'T weak-tight like us to give you tips on these. ;-)

well, thanks for the input, nonetheless. In case you were wondering.hand 1: beat by pocket 7'shand 2: beat by 6d 2dhand 3: QQ, river strikes againhand 4: you guessed it TT
Well, at least you can take comfort in knowing that you didn't get sucked out on for hands 1, 3, and 4. Those guys all played the hands they held fairly reasonably at every stage, I would say. Hand 2 is insane, though. He limps 62s from middle position, check-calls with a 6-high backdoor flush draw and second pair 2 kicker on the flop, then bets into you with the inside straight flush draw on the turn? I guess you could call that a semi-bluff, but it's a heck of a crazy one, considering that you're not likely to fold your hand now and he's not getting value for his bet. I hope you got some notes on that guy. :-)

depends on your definition of sucking out. A 2 outer on the river still hurts a little, even if it was played reasonably. Oh well. As discussed in another thread, aces are now an overall loser for me according to pokertracker and my bb/100 is down to a very earthly "2". This is all over only 2500 hands though, so we'll see how the next 20,000 go!

In my definition of "sucking out", the emphasis is on the "sucking". I can ALWAYS live with being beat by a good hand played reasonable, even if I was way ahead until the river.I need to get PokerTracker. I couldn't name ANY of the stats you just did, although with a little effort I could work out a net big bets per hour win rate based on my spreadsheet records.

You should download it for free and give it a shot. What site do you play on?

This is why I prefer No Limit because it is much easier to protect a hand or at least make someone pay through the tooth to chase. Let me know if you feel I just don't know about Limit.

Right now, I play mostly ring games at PokerRoom, SnG's at PStars, and some ring games at Full Tilt. (I'm trying to clear bonuses.) Once my bonuses are all done, I'm going to go back to playing a lot more at Party, and I figure at that point I'll do the 1000 hand trial. I am planning to buy the fully licensed copy with points from Poker Source Online eventually -- just need to complete another one of their promotions, which I don't want to start when I'm still frantically trying to clear stuff at other sites. :-)

Doesn't Jayson Weber have something in his sig about being a pokertracker affiliate or something. I seem to remember that.
Yeah, he does. I talked to him about this already -- if I can get him some credit for my purchase through PSO, I will, but we're not too hopeful on that one. Unfortunately, he can't get me a deal as good as the "free for playing a bunch of poker" that PSO is giving me. :-)
