redman311 0
so i played in my first live casino tourny this weekend, 150+25 buyin. i cruised relativley easily through the first several levels. with 10 left i was chip leader, top 8 were paid. for the next 3-4 rounds i went card dead and jus sat on my chips. when we hit 9 handed, i started seeing a few cards and decided to try and make a move. i was successfully outdrawn on 3 straight hands and i was out in 9th.what is the best strategy for this kind of situation, sit around and wait for ppl to be knocked out, or try and boss the table even though there is still the risk u wont be able to get paid. I also don't worry about going card dead, since I seem card dead compared to others most of the time anyway.
Royal_Tour 0
I don't slow burn over coin flip calls I didn't make that ended up going my way and going card dead.i dotn understand this much, but i dont understand much anyways, point of this post:You can go card dead, very simple, you can go so card dead it seems like people are even raising when you're about to steal with junk.i had a situation in vegas being top 5 chip with 2 tables left blinds were ridiculous and i was dealt J , 3 J,4 J,5 9,2 8,2 7,3 9,3 etc.... for about 5 or 6 rotations, i soon had to push for 2x BB after steal attempts were not do-able.i busted in 11th.p.s. true story check my blog
SavageHenry 0
ive lost huge chips leads when dealt strong playable second best hands. IE short stack pushes in from button with JJ and i have 10 10 in the BB. Followed by me raising AQs utg then getting another shorty pushing AK behind me. Then i end up a moderate stack get some queens and then get crippled running into AA or something...happens...sucks...you feel like your getting dealt the instruments of your own demise. r0llin_game 2
definately w/ a big chip stack you wanna put your opponents to the test. they are going to be the ones trying to make the $$, esp. if they are short. but you gotta look at it this way, are you there to just make the $$ or or you there to win?? i've played 4 tournies at this same casino (55+10+10, 10 for bounties, 100+30+20 bounties x2, and a rebuy event in that order). the first tourny i ended up just playing TAG mostly cuz people were going in right and left and i wasn't givin much of a chance to play w/ my nice stack, top 14 paid, made it to the FT 2nd in chips only like 5K behind the CL (3rd was bout a 50K drop off) and managed to have AJ suckout v. my QQ with an ace exposed, then suckout KK w/ QJ =D, managed to win the tourny.2nd tourny i had about 60K (top 3 stack) w/ blinds at 1/2K i'd been playing aggressive w/ that like raising in mid/late pos. w T3d and turning a flush =D, then had a donk push all his chips in in the CO w/ J4sp and i wake up w/ KK on the button, i push the blinds out and figure imma add about 30K more to my stack, unfortunately he rivered 2 pair and now i changed to the TAG style from the LAG style i had. point being if the action is playing tight on the bubble play LAG if you got the stack definately. if you are on a short stack, and have prolly > 7 BB's or so you look for a spot to dub up w/ 2 live cards so you can put yourself in a spot to win, unless you are fortunate enough to pick up a huge hand
