Words like stupider and stupidest are technically words according to the dictionary, but the preferred (and more intelligent) way to express it would be "more stupid."
I don't think so. I'm pretty sure "stupider" and "stupidest" are preferred. In fact, in almost all cases, I'm positive it is.Wang

I was always told it was stupid, more stupid, and most stupid. Then I looked it up and it shows stupider and stupidest being proper forums of the word. Could someone set it straight for me please?
Pun intended?
I prefer Redpill, Teneight, and Cuin5yearsDan, personally.
POTY - altough I could make a case for Redpill being more stupid than Teneight. Ahh...who cares. They are all stupid.

I'm pretty sure it's the other way around. Although i'm not "positiver" than you. I am more positive, however.

I don't think it's even possible to be More Positive!

I'll do some research, but I'll be surprised if I'm wrong. Among other things, it just SOUNDS right to say, "This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen" whereas "This is the most stupid thing I've ever seen.""Who's stupider? Me or you?" "Who's more stupid? Me or you?"I dunno, I'll do some research and get a definitive answer and post it. Unless I'm wrong, in which case I'll hope everyone forgets.Wang

I did some searching. The American Heritage 4 dictionary I have prefers "stupidest." An older Merriam Webster prefers "most stupid." Dictionary.com, which sucks a lot, prefers "stupidest." My newer Merriam Webster prefers "stupidest."I think it goes to stupidest, by a hair. Closer than I thought.Wang

They suck, so they're wrong.
In the past, and perhaps still by some authorities, it has been considered incorrect to form the comparative of some multisyllabic adjectives by adding -er, but objections to words such as "stupider" have come to seem a bit schoolmarmish in current usage. But there's certainly nothing wrong with saying "more stupid"! -Some English Nerd

I got taught that if a word has two or more syllables, it gets more/most in front.
That rule is surely right; I can't think of a single exception. I suppose this should make me sad, but I'm always happy to refine my language skills.WangPS- I don't want to seem breezy about this. I think your point is steady
