Fcp Store Jacking Prices...

Recommended Posts

Okay it's starting to get ridiculous now...First I noticed that quite a few items jumped up 2,000 points. Now I log on today and see that they've gone up another 700-800 points. This is getting a little aggravating when I'm trying so hard to obtain enough points for an item in the store just to see it go up 2,749 points in less than 2 weeks.I can understand that some things require more expensive shipping, but if that is the case... figure a better price for it beforehand... There should not be 2000+ point changes after the item is put in the store, unless it's -2,000 points for a discount item or something.Imagine if this were a normal store where you pay actual money for items... An item in the store that was once $100 is now $125... wouldn't that seem like a rip off?The problem is that since there is no dollar to point ratio, whoever is in charge of the store feels that they can just drastically change the cost of things and nobody will care. Well I care, and I've noticed it's happened on a lot of things...Can we expect the prices to continually jump up as the months go by? Are the prices getting higher because more people are earning more points? I'd really like to know.

Konidias-The only time a price has been altered after being posted in the store was when it was assigned the wrong price tag. This was then adjusted a few days laterPrices in the store should not be rising and falling on a consistent basis. If this has happened it was without my authorization.Obviously, if an item we are selling is very popular and the distributor of this item starts charging us more we would increase our price to compensate, but I am unaware of a situation like this taking place. If you could supply me with some specific examples I would be more than happy to look into the problem. How many points people have are not one of the factors in determining pricing for the store. Thanks,

It looks like the FCP chipsets increased dramatically, recently.

Whiskey16-There was some confusion over the pricing on this item when we first offered it in the store. We wanted everyone at FCP to get this item at a discounted price. The price you see now was the original price. our distribution center accidently changed the price recently when they added some new items. The original price will be reinstated shortly. Thanks,

Thanks for the response, Matt. Just one that I had noticed yesterday. You guys are doing a great job with both service and timely responses, and continuing to offer a wider range of products in the store. Keep up the great work.Jeffrey

If you could supply me with some specific examples I would be more than happy to look into the problem.
An example would be the Complete Pool set in the billiards section. It was 18,000 points not more than a month ago. Then it went up to 20,000. Now it's currently sitting at 20,749.I'm finally approaching 18,000 points just to find that the item I want is now 2,749 points out of my reach. The thing that bothers me the most is that it stayed at 18,000 points for a couple of weeks. If I would have had the points at the time I could have gotten it for 2,749 points less. That's why I'm not very happy about the situation.

I apologize for the confusion. When I stated "original price" I meant the price we originally had set for the chip sets before we started offering them in the store. We then decided that becasue people had waited so long to get the sets and it was an FCP product, we would offer them in the 6,000 range. In short, they will go back to the original store price of 6,000 and change. Thanks,

Konidias-I understand why this would make you upset. As stated before, this was not authorized by me. I will look into why this took place and provide you with an answer. Please PM me the item # and your address. I will make sure you are not charged anymore than the original point value set for this item.Thank you for your patience,

I think Bob mentioned in the chat a few days ago that some items went up due to unexpected shipping fees.
For all products over 14 pounds in weight, the FCP store will be raising its POINTS required. This is due to the nature of shipping of heavier items which was not calculated in the cost when the heavier items were launched on the site.Due to the fact that there was no notice for the players, prices have been reversed back to where they were before the recent increase took effect. This increase on the affected products will take place on or about August 4th, 2006.Thanks for your understanding in this matter.

Okay well I have the 18,000 points now needed for the item... but it's still 1,749 points over it's original price... Am I going to end up having to pay the extra 1,749?I don't actually understand the point drop because it went up 2,000 and then up 749 (2,749 total) and now it's dropped 1,000 (which is still 1,749 points off). Just curious.I'm thinking the store really needs better management. This sort of thing usually happens when points aren't given a specific dollar value. Reminds me of some online games I play where money becomes more abundant and prices of items change for no apparent reason.I can understand the shipping costs but how are the item point costs actually being determined? From what I can tell, the scale seems to change depending on the item. Apparently it's like a range of 130 to 140 points on the dollar.Going by those numbers... I'm going to need like an extra 12 dollars worth of bonus points to get this item. It also means that the 2,749 price jump would have been equal to a nearly $20 price jump.Just don't want to be taken for a ride here...

When we first opened the store our distribution center wanted to gauge the amount of shipping internationally, cost for shipping in general, what size items were being ordered most often, etc. This was all just evaluated recently, over the past couple months. When the original price increase was initiated for the item you are referring to, and other items over 14 pounds, all of the shipping fees were not taken into account. This is the reason for the small increase which turned into a larger increase after all shipping costs were evaluated. I knew at some point the cost of shipping was going to go up, I was not made aware of when this would happen. We now have a date set up for when the most recent increase will take effect.I'm sorry for the confusion in this matter. If and when a store wide price increase or decrease occurs I will notify everyone. Thanks again for your patience and understanding of this situation.

Thanks for clearing this all up.I'm happy that we'll be notified of price changes now... as it was kind of shady before with things just changing price without any warning or explanation. Thanks again.
