Daniels Getting Burnt Out Already?

Recommended Posts

Well, I think he is still Bumed out about the HORSE event. He bragged a little too much about how he and Ivey were the two best players and even suggested we Lay money down on them. Ivey kept his end of the bargain but Daniel fizzled away in that Tourney. He didn't even break the $50 000 mark that he started with. Now he is dumping the $2000 event. I think the other poster said it best. He should set up a FCP member to play if he is just going to DUMP chips. Give someone a chance who supports his site to do Battle.I told you all he was playing way too much golf and not focusing on his poker. Or even better should have gotten HORSE back riding lessons. Get off the green grass and back on the Green Felt!Good luck bro.
is Chris Ferguson golfing too much also?you clod

Damn, I mean DAniel has more talent and knowledge on reads and moves then all of those players yet he sucked at HORSE. You can't say he didn't have a good structure with 50 000 in chips? My point is he was over confident and played to much golf and not enough omaha/razz etc......He needs to focus.."Daniel Son, HAnds On Hands OFF"He should do a retreat to the Indian Casino's in CAnada and regain that SPARK!
He played well dumba$$. Little secret about cards: making the right decisions sometimes isnt enough. I don't see how people hitting 1-6 outters on him would change if he spent more time at the tables. Now be a good lad and get all defensive about how what i wrote is somehow wrong.

Point #1. He was overconfident by telling us to lay money down on him and Ivey.Point#2. Ivey and Bruson play way more poker then Daniel thus are sharper. Stay off the golf course 2 weeks prior to WSOP starting?Point#3. Alot of Fans like yourself are living and breathing Daniel this and that. For him to go and dump chips " 9 2 off , I just wanted to go home" is a bad example of how to play poker and disrespects the game. Point#4. Why is it that whenever anybody has some constructive critism you geeks get all Paro? I am just Speaking the OBVIOUS.
Point #1. Yeah...confidence is a HORRIBLE thing to have on a poker table. What would you rather him say, "I really don't think Im gonna do good'. Maybe he felt it was good odds to take w/ the risk/reward.Point #2. Oh I forget Ivey doesn't play Golf...Oh what..he does? I know when I play baseball I like to practice every day for 5-6 hours a day. Who needs relaxation. You talk about him getting burned out. If thats indeed true what do you think would have happened if he had been playing poker everyday instead of being on the golf course? Thats some food for thought. He enjoys Golf, its his life, who are you to tell him to not do something he enjoys?point #3. He won the hand, maybe he read him as weak and pushed him off, and then said that to put up a loose image, you don't know for sure if he was even being serious. I imagine he was, but who really knows except for Daniel? Point #4. Constructive criticism? I'll just leave that be. Oh and thats not an actual point :club:

Hey Sixhands, You make some good points.I am definately not his boss and Daniel by all means can smoke weed and give all his money to helmuth for all I know.I was just pointing out the fact that he came out and told us, Ok Recommened that we lay money on him 30-1 to win HORSE. I know the man has skills and he underperformed. Come on now, 134 outta 150. That is just wrong. He hyped up HORSE so much and then Bombed. I always support him and was very Happy when he won the tourney earliar this year. BUt what has he done since? We are fans and If you are in the limelight you have to take critism, Good or BAD.He sucked at Horse , Bottom line. Don't go and be a wimp about it. "OK, 9-2 of, here I am all in, Take my Money"Man up and move on.Good Luck Daniel. I hope you do something in the main event!

I'm going to be honest, if DN truly doesn't want to be there anymore, then he just needs to break for a little bit.I'm here in vegas for the month, busting my butt as a grinder taking his shot. I'm putting up about 10% of my bankroll to play in about 4-5 smaller wsop events. So far, things have not gone well, and as a result, decided not to play in today's event. Now maybe he forgot what it's like to truly put your heart and soul into these things, or maybe this is the aftermath of putting his h&s into the HORSE event and failing, but regardless, it's pretty demoralizing and a little insulting to hear a player of his calibur say he doesn't want to be there. It's his money, his time, and he can say whatever he pleases. He's a honest person. And so am I, so hopefully if he reads this, he can understand my frustration as a colleague who's trying to make it, that I am a little baffled and upset by this attitude. I would love to be in his position to play every event, and would kill for the chance to gain some insight and advice from him during the WSOP. I have so far been unsuccessful in getting in touch with him out of fear of being seen as just some 'fan', so I have given him his space when I have seen him. I'd say after having success online, I'm having a difficult time transitioning to live major events. I'm 0 for 4 on 10k events and 0 for 5 for 1k+ events, so I'm looking for some tweaks.Bottom line DN, if you truly are feeling a little burnt out and don't want to be there anymore, take it from someone who is here now and appreciates every minute he can be here. Maybe you just need to spend some time talking about the game with someome who is playing for the pure love of it.Starting to ramble....later.

Danielson, Don't be Jealous bro. People like my post better then yours. Just Joking!Who cares where its posted, I never seen yours.Anyway, Maltimignum, Sorry to hear about your bad run of cards. I hope your bankroll is big enough to get you through this bad stretch. You should play in the lower satelites and win your way into the bigger tourneys. I hope you are not staking the money in those 4 10 000 tourneys yourself. Daniel knows he shouldn't have played the $2000 dollar tourney and he is the First one of the poker players to say its Important not to disrespect the game. Daniel you have to do something in the MAin event to make up for the Crud you played in HORSE:)

Sorry DS, but I did delete my other post so it's not duplicated. I just saw there was discussion here. :)Yeah, my br is fine, not worried about the outcome after all is said and done even if I go 0 for the universe the rest of the wsop. I got my main event seat already through satellite, and agree, will start playing more satellites for the smaller events, especially the 5k shorthanded nlhe. And no, I would never pony up 10k unless I had a 300k bankroll. I won all those through satellites, so while those haven't hurt my roll one bit.

there is usually someone who comes throwin out phrases such as "get of DN's sac and be ur own person" or whatever.... but last time i checked this was HISwebsite. People come here to see how he is doin and to support him. I dont think there is 1 thing wrong with anyone defending him!
+1JEFF

Hey Maltimignun, your predicament isn't bad at all then. You are playing on satelite wins hey? Awesome man. So why haven't you talked with Daniel ? Hell if I saw him I wouldn't hesitate. He is a nice guy from what I hear. Ask him anything you need to know. Have you seen any hotties there?Like Ceciela Nordensen, the swedish player. She is Smoking!

Heh, yeah it's fun out here for sure, lots of good looking ladies....it is vegas after all.But i'm kind of preoccupied and the only ladies i'm admiring have crowns. The only reason I haven't approached daniel is I guess I didn't want to come off as just some fan and I know how busy he is with everything...but I guess you are right, couldn't hurt to try.

cemo, you have declared much more love for DN than i have in this thread. it cracks me up that you guys take his actions so personally, like he is gambling with your money or something (maybe if you play on FCP then some of it is, but you chose to give it to him). why are you getting upset that he (or anyone) is donking it up in a tourney. yeah, thats the last thing everyone needs, another donkey.DN may have said something about respecting the game (i don't remember reading it and you haven't provided any examples) but he has gone on crazy blind betting, blind raising, ridiculous overbet all-in sessions while nutbarring it, so i don't see how his donk 92 is any more "disrespectful".if you guys want a hero, read comic books, he's just a dude that plays poker and tells you about it.DN you have to do something in the ME or cemo might take his love somewhere else.

I never understand why someone must use extremes to get their point across instead of trying to make it on its own merit.I guess its just easier to blow up someone's words and twist them to devalue their meaning than it is to actually try to give a valid point.

i didn't bother to read all the replies to OP but the answer is:you get burned out when you put your heart into something and it doesn't turn out the way you wanted.you don't care about a 2000 dollar buy-in NLHE (?) event that's about as prestigious has beating phil hellmuth in cash games..he doesn't have to play but he does because he has to be in all of the tourneys for marketing purposes. (fullcontactpoker)he has had great showings this far in the wsop, very consistent play but somewhat unluckythe day after a cold streak that gets you out of the ONLY tournament you really care about because you've won anything else (beside the main event) you're not really playing your best no matter who you are (except if lance armstrong played poker)

Someone forgot to switch back to their regular account. Is it just me or are half the people around here RKIGS? DN through less than half the WSOP has already had a series to be proud of. So he started the 2K event and realized his heart wasn't in it. I've done the same many times before. Well not 2K WSOP events but you know what I mean.

Don't forget that this is like playing a $2 tourney for a 4/8 player. I can understand why he'd want to gamble it up a little bit, and if you have that image, you certainly want to work with it.

I like when said Objectivity is based in fact. Just spouting some **** that seems like the cool thing to do just doesn't carry much merit.Oh and kiss ***? I tell it how it is.Gnight.
