Not sure, but, I think the law is a camera at every location where money changes hands. Tournaments don't exchange money, I doubt they are watching that closely.
The "eye in the sky" is supposed to be on each and every table. I've never been behind the scenes in Security at a casino, but most people would be surprised at how overwhelming the surveillance coverage in casinos is.

It's a known fact that T.J. C. has a problem with craps, and possibly other casino games, and also that he had to be backed for tournaments in the past.

Nope. I went to Howard Lederer's Fantasy Camp and they had it in a banquet room. They had to install a ton of cameras or they couldn't have a tournament in there. No cash games at all. Just two big freerolls and a bunch of low-limit SNG's. This was at the Rio, BTW.

What was your opinion of Howard's fantasy camp?

Actually, he's always had a backer. I saw an interview with him where he said that he's been using the same backer for 30 years or something like that. He said that he's got one of the few very good backing arrangements and its worked out great for him over the years.

The top 10% of the field should cash - the top 15 or so players.1st place usually pays about 30% of the prize pool - probably a little more than $2,000,000 or so.
I'm pretty sure most events at wsop pay more around 20%. Plus they are taking out 4%. Four percent of the 7.15M prize pool is 286,000. Leaving $6,864,000, 20% of that is $1,372,800. That's my o/u for 1st place money

I nominate Patty and DN to run CardPlayer's live updates. You two give us more updates in an hour than CP does all day.GL, Daniel. I hope things turn around for you soon. With such a big starting stack, hopefully you'll be able to wait out the bad luck. :D:club::D

1. I was sure that it didn't happen.2. Evidence to bust you was the improper punctuation, although you get credit for spelling everything correctly and formatting the sentences as if they had actually appeared on Cardplayer.com, etc.We all need a little something now and then to break up the monotony.
No credit for "I want my Mommy!, I want my Mommy!" being funny??Come on you laughed. At least a little bit? :club:

obviously that's not enough if they can't afford new decks. if only they'd have taken $2020.00, then all of this trouble could have been avoided.
LOL!!

Wed Jul 12 17:30:00 PDT 2006Chase Scoops with Four OpponentsOMAHA 8/OBWith a board showing J83AQ, and betting on every street from four players, Richard Chase flips up the A4 for the nut high. Daniel Negreanu, Allen Kessler and T.J. Cloutier all fold, none having a low hand, and Chase scoops a tidy pot and now has $62,000 in his stack. Negreanu is down to $38,200, Kessler has $44,000 and Cloutier has $44,500.

152 players x $48,000 each (after $2000 rake) = $7,296,000 prize pool.30% of prize pool = approximately $2,188,800 for first place. In my original post, I spoke in round figures and said that it should be a little more than $2 million or so. That's my estimate and I'm sticking to it until something is posted by Cardplayer.com.I just got back from dinner and this is the first thing that I looked at.In the $10k PLO, Lee Watkinson was paid $655,746 for 1st place. 218 players x $10k each = $2,180,000. $655,746 is 29.9701096892% of $2,180,000.
