Skizario 0
There is nothing more boring than watching a live poker tournament. If your plan is to go there and watch the tournaments then I suggest you rethink your plans. The aisles are crowded with spectators and even if they weren't you wouldn't be able to see anything entertaining. I suppose watching a final table could be mildly interesting but from what I saw you had to get there pretty far in advance just to lock up a seat. There are a lot of booths outside the poker room that have a bunch of random poker crap. And just about all the major online sites have hospitality rooms set up. I never went in one but I think they basically give away free stuff. Some of them had sessions scheduled where you could hear pros speak. They have a whole area set up for satellites that range from $125 to $1080.
gmanshade 0
yeah, watching a tournament is incredibly boring. even watching edited tv coverage, where you can see the hole cards and there is ongoing commentary is often boring. speaking of boring, I was reading T.J. Cloutier's book on omaha (Championship Omaha I think) and he says that his wife, Joy, who he has been married to for 40 years, watches most of his live final tables despite the fact THAT SHE DOES NOT KNOW THE RULES OF ANY POKER GAME. That's right, she is in the audience watching WITHOUT ANY IDEA OF WHAT IS GOING ON. She has no idea what makes a flush, straight or full house in any poker game, and she does not know what the objective is in holdem, omaha, or stud. Cloutier writes that the only thing she knows about poker is that if "I am standing up it means that I am all in and if I sit back down it means that I'm still in it." lol

She's been watching poker for 40 years and hasn't learned anything
