For Those Already In Vegas For The Wsop

Recommended Posts

I am turning 21 on the 2nd of august, and i am going to be in vegas starting that night through the night of the 5th. I am looking to play in a few tournies, and was looking at the "second chance" tourneys following the wsop events. so my questions are...have any of you played these yet? how many people are playing them? what are the payouts like? Which seems better? the $225 or the $500 buyin ones? anything else i need to know about these tournies? Thanks,Jesse

I played one last year, it was $1000 buyin, over 1000 entrants. I don't think there are WSOP tourneys for a smaller buyin. PM if you have more questions.
naw. the ones i am talking about are called "second chance" they are not actual events. you cant win a bracelet by playing in them. the buyins are i think 225 and 500.I think they are probly new this year. Jesse

Yeeeeeeep....correct on the buy in amounts, the 225 one usually pays something like 30k for first, they tend to get a bunch of players. Check it out for sure.

30K seems kind of high for the $225 ones. That sounds more like the prize for the $500. The $500 starts @ 5:00 PM everyday and the $225 starts @ 11:00 PM. I didn't play in any of them but I heard the structure was pretty fast. The $500 obviously gets more people because of the start time. I heard a guy at my table say that his buddy took down the $225 tourney and won $7700 for first. Let me know if you have any more questions

I played in a 225 last year. 30K was about the size of the prize pool for one of those, so 7k sounds about right for a win. Decent tourney, but the structure was pretty quick.

Aren't the $225 rebuys as well? (which increases the prize pool). I thought they were unlimited before the 3rd level if you have $200 or fewer chips.

30 minutes levels aren't the best, but they'll do! Take it down.
