Jadaki 1
Buffon is a far better keeper than BarthezBuffon didn't stop any of the PK's either, he just got lucky that the one shot hit the crossbar, he was going the wrong way to make the save.

timwakefield 69
It doesn't matter that Trezeguet missed, and that he would have still shot if Zidane stayed in. First of all, Zidane cost his team a chance to score with 10 minutes of overtime still remaining. They had a few close opportunities, and if they'd had 11 men they might have scored.Secondly, if Zidane had stayed in, the shootout would have gone totally differently. Maybe Italy wins the shootout 3-0, maybe France wins 5-4, who knows, but everything that happened, every split-second decision and shot would have been entirely different and unique, so you can't say that Trezeguet still misses and Italy wins. stealfromblind 0
the world cup is rigged, they should've never shown the foul on the big screen, ****ing vegetables.
digitalmonkey 929
What a great tournament. They play for weeks and the championship gets decided by a shootout. Great! SW
Mattnxtc 0
Zidane is the man. Would love to hear what was said but Zidane will go down as one of the best players ever. His career was great and this wont reflect on itas for the pksZidane would have been kicking 5th almost certainly for France so he wouldnt have been kicking neways
Jadaki 1
as for the pksZidane would have been kicking 5th almost certainly for France so he wouldnt have been kicking newaysHow do you know that, I would put him up early in the lineup to keep pressure on the italians to keep making shots. The Italians couldnt even stand up. The french played all over them with just 10 men. If Zidan stayed in, they could have one.I'm glad he did it.I started to hate Italy after everyone hoped onto their bandwagon Yeah me too. I started hating all the Europepean teams (except spain, and england). Why the **** couldnt argentina win?
Mattnxtc 0
How do you know that, I would put him up early in the lineup to keep pressure on the italians to keep making shots.except in rare circumstances, best pker is always kickin 5th mainly b/c of the pressure they are under if it gets to them. Generally when it gets down to this position you want your best player kickin to deal with the that kind of pressure. I mean i was nervous watchin the 5th guy kickin for italy and i was just watchin from my tv

Petoria 0
Was I the only one who thought the Italians looked really flat from the 2nd half on? France outplayed them big time in my opinion.
AcesUp46 0
The World Cup being decided by PKs is like a huge poker tournament being decided by all-in fests due to the huge blinds/low M situations...wait, that's how WPT tournaments are decided.
Jam-Fly 8
Materazzi must have said summin really bad, but what Zidane did is unexcusable. He has had arguably the best career of any player ever and goes and gets a name for himself. very sad

mrdannyg 274
"You have a soft head."3 pages ago, but i just got home and laughed heartily.its funny that the thread was already won, and yet there were still two more pages of suggestions.we actually had this discussion at the bar, and i impressed even myself with coming up with two very dirty suggestions in the company of several women who i'd known for less than an hour.so loogie wins the thread, but i won the bar. woot. runthemover 40
it was a total bs call, the ref only called it after he saw the big screen, 3 minutes after the actual headbutt. total bs. if he had really seen the headbutt he would've called it IMMEDIATELY. soccer is rigged.yea you're right cuz the offsides judges are legally blind so there's no way they could have seen what happened. oh they're also mute and deaf so that head ref is a jerk. Don Giovanni 0
i thought it was pretty funny. as unsportsmanlike as it was, you have to admit that Zidane owned the guy.
mrdannyg 274
umm quick question since i don't know too much about soccer.is the consensus that the goal that was called off for being offsides that it definitely wasn't offside? looked onside to me.
FlyerFan9 0
Was I the only one who thought the Italians looked really flat from the 2nd half on? France outplayed them big time in my opinion.I thought they played awful. They looked tired the whole game, passing was off. The French were putting pressure on everyone who had the ball. umm quick question since i don't know too much about soccer.is the consensus that the goal that was called off for being offsides that it definitely wasn't offside? looked onside to me.He was onside
Jadaki 1
Is this on youtube yet? Yea, here you go.He was onsideThe player who hit the header in was, but there was another player a few yards from him that was offsides.
Mercury69 3
(at any point in overtime)"Wait a second, you're French. Shouldn't you guys have already surrendered by now?"Coming from an Italian, it would be the pot calling the kettle black.umm quick question since i don't know too much about soccer.is the consensus that the goal that was called off for being offsides that it definitely wasn't offside? looked onside to me.It looked OFFside to me.Anyway, I'm not sure if Matterazzi said anything specific or not. He was obstructing Zidane some just prior to the headbutt and this was happening only minutes after Buffon made that tremendous, game-saving stop off Zidane's header. I'd say Zidane was just totally frustrated and had a very black moment.
