I've been getting owned by the cards the last 2-3 weeks. Last 3 times I've flopped a set it's come all of one suit with a 4th eventually hitting. Last 4 flopped straights have been counterfitted by a turn/river to chop the pot. Not exactly a straight flush, but the only pots I seem to win are those steroid ones. I won w/ quad Aces against quad 5's today. Then flopped set of A's against flopped set of J's. Loosing some confidence.Eventually you'll get to the point where these monsters don't effect you. It's helpful too, keeps you more grounded since the highs and lows can be brutal.I agree w/ loogie, it's more fun/exceiting to pull a well timed bluff or other situations such as those.

Cards and made hands no longer excite me this much. I remember when they did. I pooped a little when I rivered my first straight flush at the Bicycle and got a guy to call my raise at the 2/4 table.Now I get more excited when I pull off sickening bluffs, surgical bets, vomit inducing calls, and fillmaffian folds against an opponent that I have a great read on.

This is true for me too. A great bluff or fold is the only things that really get me excited when playing poker.
