Who Is This Old Guy On Live @ The Bike

Recommended Posts

ISAPI don't think it was as bad as you guys make it, but I just played badly last night. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that I only had a short time to play before working all night, or that I don't often play cash game NL, but I really don't have much of an excuse. Anyway, this is what I was thinking on the key hands. I didn't watch it yet, so this is just my opinion from the feel of the game as I remember it.TT vs. 94: I limped with the tens behind a few limpers hoping to trap some sucker if I hit a favorable flop. It worked perfectly on a rag flop, except I was the sucker that I trapped. I really felt he didn't want me to call and put him on top pair at best. It was a bad read that should have cost me all my chips, but I hit runner runner. I really don't like winning like that and genuinely felt bad for the guy who outplayed me.AJ vs Q7: I played this hand as well as I could, no complaints here. Flopped top two, check-raised a good amount, got called by bottom pair. At least the caller showed me that I was not the worst player at the table. As those who watched know, he caught his 2-outer to double up on a very big pot. Perhaps this affected me later, but I don't think I went on tilt.AQ vs K2: Ugh. Can you say donk? I don't know why he open-limped from the button with that or called my $25 preflop raise, but I rewarded him by giving my money away. He might have still doubled up if I played it right, but this was pathetic. I bet the A high flop and he called with his nut flush draw, ok so far. Somehow, the way he called, I just put him on a weak A. When the flush came on the turn, I should have bet and folded to a raise, but I checked and just didn't believe him for some reason. On the river I expected him to check his ace, but he moved in, meaning he must have the flush. I can't explain why I called there, just too stubborn with my original read and the fact that it wasn't a huge bet compared to the pot. Reliving this hand makes me sick to my stomach.TT vs big pair? He didn't tell me what he had, and I will watch it later, but it was raised to 40 by an aggressive player and called, I made it 120 and the guy behind me made it 300. I felt he must have a huge hand to make the 3rd raise in that spot, and laid it down after everyone else did. I'm satisfied with my play there.43 vs J8: Another questionable play. Limped with suited connectors, button raised the limpers, as he often did. Several players called, so I liked my odds. Flop was 883, suited, checked to me and I moved all-in drawing virtually dead. I thought this pot could be taken, I had a short stack, but enough that I thought only an 8 or flush draw would call me. I had no reason to think an 8 was out there in a raised pot, and I wanted to gamble against a flush draw, mainly because I knew I had to leave in a few minutes to go to work. I actually felt that 70% of the time, I would not get called here, but he had the 8. I know the fact that I was leaving should have nothing to do with my play, but I bet you guys do that too.Well, that's my story, so you know some thinking went into these plays that several of you thought were horrible. Anyway, it didn't cost me that much, only a rack in the game, and I was ahead in another game before sitting down. I will do better next time. And thanks for calling me an old guy, that makes me feel even better. Is 39 a dinosaur in today's poker world?Scott

Bouncies of course, though you do have an attractive couch. :club:
I do get compliments on the avatar quite a bit too, haha. It's strange, but I'll take em where I can get em.
