KK35 seems decent to me, what hands do you look to play?
In a loose full ring game this hand is marginal at best. What exactly are you hoping to hit that has potential for the nuts both ways? By the way DN talked in his interview this game seemed pretty loose. I mean his opponents were playing hands like JJT4.

What types of hands do you normally play in O8?As in the Average playable hand....
There is a good article in this month's Bluff Magazine on calculating your hand to see if it is playable or even if you should raise. I first learned how to play O8 by reading this page: http://pokersyte.com/omaha_hilo.htm
yeah... this is the article.

------------------For beginners, it's common to play Ace douce plus another wheel card. But they lose because they get 1/2 only-- or less. Advanced players try to play hands that scoop pots. Big high raps w/ suited, A or A suited with either wheel and low wrap cards, and a2 with a big pair--like KK and a suit. 89910 is about the same as 7 2 in holdem--Play 4 cards that work together, just not 9's-------------BTW, the Kong Doo guy (last page) in the tornament actually tought Phil Ivey how to play O8--although Ivey's now got what (?) 3 Omaha WSOP bracelets

It depends...shorthanded or full ring? In a full ring game you want to stick to AA, A2, decent A3's, a few A4's or A5's, KK32, QQ32, and 4 cards 9 or higher. In shorthanded play you should broaden your horinzons to hands like KK53 or 6542 where you don't have good draws to the nuts both ways, but have potential to win on both sides. Shorthanded low limit games are kind of tuff to adjust to, because while you want to play more pots there are often 5 people seeing a flop with you. Therefore it's unlikely that KK53 will have potential to go both ways and you may just want to broaden your horizons a little less. While a hand like 7542 may look good in a higher limit 6 max game it seems to get in more trouble in lower limit games since there are more people and stronger hands then 7's up will be good and 42 low will often not be good enough due to the fact that counterfitting will not occur to everyone else.

wow what a start to the wsop. too bad espn would never show an o8 ft :club:
if daniel wins, you can bet they will show it - and people will watch.they had no intention of showing pot-limit hold'em last year - that was until johnny chan was playing the unabomber heads up for the bracelet - and won.granted it was still hold 'em but "starpower" trumps all.am i right or am i right?

Hopefully this event will be televised...last year after Ivey's PLO win was televised, PLO became extremely popular online for ~2 months.

They would never televise a high-low split event. It's in a limit structure and it's way too complicated as if omaha high isn't complicated enough for the average viewer.

My favorite hand in O8 is something like AA23. Something that has a big pair and a low draw. I also like having 3 low cards incase one pairs.
That is also why AA23 is the best hand in the game.
Never Mind.
Thanks...should of known that. :club:

If the cards break even, Daniel will FT this event, judging by current chipstacks and upcoming blind levels.
