It seems to me that this is the Bullshit that is crashing it.. If I would have known this was going to end up happening.. I would have bought a different brand of Video card.. Then can you tell me why my AGP Graphic Accelerator or some shit keeps crashing and restarting when I play WOW?? Its driving me INSANE!!

that i can work with!I assume you've done the standard things, if not, do that first.1. Look to see if any updates for WOW!2. Look to see if a newer driver is available for your graphics card.3. See if there is a bios upgrade available for your motherboard4. Empty out temp files5. ensure there's plenty of drive space where your swap file is.If nothing on 1-5 it's on to more advanced stuff.6. Change the AGP Apeture size in Bios. First larger then smaller if needed.7. Did it always crash or is it a recent thing? A. If it always crashed proceed to 8. B. If it didn't, what changed on your pc. And don't say nothing. What software did you add recently?8. run windows update in install any media related patches. along with critical updates and security patches.let me know if none of that helps you.

well, uninstall it and use the windows drivers only and let directx handly 3-d acceleration. or just let the game interface with the drivers directly.

I am wondering if Updating the driver would cause it to crash since the old driver worked fine.. If I just format will everthing go back to the old way it was?

my biggest reason not to tell my parents shit is that they bring it up at the most inappropriate times.i made the mistake of telling my mom the first time around that my wife and i were trying swinging. wow, that didn't go over well.i got called a slut for like a year...

Why do you feel it necessary to keep two elderly people current with your friendships. I don't specifically exclude my parents from what goes on here, but I make no effort to bring them up to date, either. In the same way I don't tell them how my day at work went. Jeff, my parents, may be cool enough now to actually get the truth about what i am doing, but i'm not comfortable telling them. I would probably tell them i was going to visit my friend from LA, (i do have a freind from LA that they know about), and if they need me call my cell phone.I tell them half truth's. Hehe Naw.. he gets enough of that 8) What he did was take my hard drive and put it into his computer to copy over some files.. Only because HIS computer has had this same exact crashing problem.. somehow his problem got on to my hard drive and now crashed mine.. He didn't copy anything TO my hard drive.. only copied stuff FROM it.. but I think maybe because it was trying to work with the components of his computer did it somehow load whatever is was onto mine and start crashing mine? I am SOOOO Computer Illiterate that I just don't know if that can work that way but its what it sounds like to me.. If I have to format and just try to start from scratch and never load that stupid driver for the video card again, will it fix it in the end? Or will I need to load the driver to have the video card work at all?

I'm not the most computer-oriented person in the world, but about 18 months ago, I was having a major graphics related problem with my Gforce 4 Certain games (almost all made by EA-electronic arts) were having glitches where the menu kept auto cycling. Say there's 5 menu options and it would keep cycling through them non-stop. After trying everything with "drivers" and settings and such I decided to just reformat. And the problem disappeared. I'd reccommend you back up all your files and reformat, but that's just me

Without knowing what the boy did. Formatting is really a 60%-40% proposition.I personally wouldn't format. i'd do what i said earlier.if none of the things i said above worked, then i would format.

fyi, i have no anti-virus software on my machine. No protection of any kind! I download porn! Hello, i'm a man! However, i've never had one virus, nor have i had 1 adware/spyware app ever on my machine. I do check manually. i would never rely on another company to keep my computer safe.But, i know what i'm doing. JS

Ah HA! Well, another clue. No, if he put your HD in his computer, His computer would not even have a clue as to updating drivers on YOUR HD. More realistic is that his machine is infected with a virus/spyware that can and probably has been moved to your HD. I would now amend to my list i said above, Run the latest version of anti-virus/Spyware that you have installed. That's about the only thing that his computer would try to put on your drive.And you just learned a valuable lesson. To transfer files, thumb drives! And always run anti-virus/spyware first before transferring.
