MikeR 0
There's a ton out there, I usually check out 3 different ones everyday, but I've seen more. I'll start with this one, probably my 2nd fave. There's this one. Cons? Since it's Daniel's site, there is almost an uncomfortable amount of ass kissing. I cringe when I read people post something like "Oh yeah, Daniel says this, are you saying you're better than Daniel Negreanu, top pro, big game player?" or "Hey Daniel, I hear ya brother, when that board paired and you lost $500,00, I busted out of a freeroll the same way." The saving grace on the Daniel ass kissing, is that he seems ok, and is hardly the most annoying player in the game.Pros? The layout is the prettiest on of all the forums. I can't believe that some guy's personal forum looks better than these other poker forums. WHoever the web guy is is worth his weight in gold here. Also, the people are pretty laid back, and even the wiseguys look like amatures compared to the 2+2 wiseguys, so it's not as annoying.
Matt Miner 0
this forum has basically turned into another rgp already and i d0ubt i'll be lurking or posting here much longer. i lurk at 2+2 but don't post there (at least not yet). anyway i'm sick of slightly-above-average players like smasharoo making fun of beginners in thinly veiled attempts to trick average players into thinking they are something other than just slightly-above-average. this board used to be interesting and informative but now it's just a bunch of immature losers posturing and trying to act cooler than they really are. that's really too bad. the moderators needed to do a better job of deleting bad threads and banning members who repeatedly create them (ie; smasharoo). Smash is posting better advice here than anyone (with a few notable exceptions like akishore). People ask for advice, smash gives it, and they freak out because his response didnt confirm their beliefs that they are the best players in the world, and were screwed by some conspiracy of cosmic proportions. If you cant deal with sarcasm, stay off internet forums. 2+2 is the most dull, and uninteresting forum there is. If i need to know the exact EV of 89s from MP with 3 limpers and a raise, assuming VP$IP of 24% and aggression of 3.14, ill go to 2+2. For day to day conversation, though, ill stick to RGP and here. the community aspect is far more important.
KDawgCometh 2
I post at three sites-here(obviously), cardplayer, and 2+2. I really don't like CP at all. There are very few good posters and Rice paper has thicker skin than the lot of them. I go there once or twice a day to check for the good posters. Many of them also seem to think that Nolimit is he only way to play and are overtly defensive when their opinion is argued against. Case in point, many seem to be big Sam Farha fanboys and when I mentioned the angle shoot that he did in Tunica all of a sudden I was Judas until I directed them to RGP and 2+2, I've never seen so many people come to the aid of a guy they've never met. I mean seriously, god forbid that you realize one of your "heroes" isn't all you wanted him to be, guess they don'[t know that Micheal Jordan lost well over a million playing golf. This site is my main one and am frequently here. Yes some of the bickering is lame and some people need to grow some skin(and some people need to let up), but this is where I'm at so I take the good with the bad. There are some very knoweldgeable players here and Daniel is very accessable, which is cool. It would be nice if some more content was on this site, but that will come with time IMO. 2+2 is where I go for just pure content, its such a big community that you have to get up over 1000 posts before people really start to recognize you. It is a very worthwhile site adnd you can learn a lot from the posters there as many of them know what they're talking about. I'm not a memeber of RGP, but I go there frequently. I guess I didn't scour it in teh day in which there was a lot of content there, but it has really turned into people asking to be staked and flame posts, so its fun to look at but I really have never felt like regging there. Your focusing on one aspect you don't like and saying that it is how this forum is in general. Try going to the strategy section and post problem hands there. You'll also see a different side of smash there too. The general section isn't the only place and I know that those of us that post frequently in would enjoy more people coming there as any good info is just good info ya know. MikeR 0
My favorite is Cardplayer. Looks good, good community atmosphere, alot of smart limit players whose advice has helped me a great deal. We treat newbies with a lot of respect, and no one seems to mind answering the same question for the 100th time, as there are always new people coming in.Good break from the holier than thou attitudes also. We had the usual bad attitude guys in the beginning, and the best thing to happen was that while there was originally 1 moderator or so, they ended up making about 7 or 8 of the regulars moderators also, and the whole thing just goes really smooth.CArdplayer is my favorite. MikeR 0
RGP is kind of a joke. I heard good things about it, but it looks like the flea market of poker forums. Ugly layout, 2 spam threads per 1 real poker topic. Just ugly, and probably the worst one I've seen. Can't even think of a pro for that one.
MikeR 0
2+2 is very informative. Not a huge fan of the layout, but if you have a question, and a thick skin, they have answers. Very informative, but when they flame you, these guys are pros. Anyone who has a problem with Smash should go ask about 3 or 4 stupid questions on 2+2, and then when you come back here Smash will seem like your biggest supporter. I probably rank 2+2 2nd on my list of faves.
custom36 5
I first went to RGP because that is the site my books suggested and there were supposedly a number of pros that went there early in their playing days. I go once in a while now, but usually avoid it because it's just flaming and spam.I go to 2+2 once in a while, but don't really make it a priority.I like this one the best because, for one, daniel is interactive with the users which shows that he cares. Also because I can actually get good advice here. This is by far my favorite.

KDawgCometh 2
I don't have a link off hand. The best place to go is 2+2, but your gonna have to do some digging from about 4-6 weeks ago. It was in the News&Gossip section. It basically went somethingt like this: Sami and Todd Brunson were playing PLO and Todd said Aces up so Sami said chop. The dealers in the big game don't hasndle the chips and they don't deal with the hands, the players trust each other. Doyle noticed that Sami had a lower Aces up as he was throwing it into the muck(Todd had already faced up his hand I think) so Doyle called out Sami, but the cards were fully in the muck, so Farha was banned from the big game for 24 hours. It was all over the internet like a month and a half ago
Emptyeye 0
Yeah, that's the gist of it.Is it possible that Sammy just make a mistake and honestly thought it was a chop?
jayistheman 0
maybe he did at the time.. but when it was clear that he lost the pot, he refused to repay todd.
