wsox8 10
eh, back to a 5 game lead. We're not worried about catching you guys yet. We just want to maintain our WC lead on the Soxa huge wild card lead that is.
TMoneyBags 0
yeah I know. But we still are going to try to maintain what little lead we have. only have to hold you off for another 33 games
SBriand 4
This next series for Detroit is huge. I will say I am a little worried. We have to play a hot NYY team while the Sox play the Rays and the Twins play the Royals. Both of those teams should sweep their series (on paper at least). We are on a huge slump. We either have great pitching and no batting or good batting and no pitching but can't seem to have good things going on both sides of the ball. Hopefully the Sox continue their streak of bad play vs bad teams and the Royals pull some sort of rabbit out of their hat and take one or two vs the Twinkies but I have a feeling things are going to be very interesting standings wise on Friday. greatwhite 0
I really feel like there's going to be a sweep, but good luck Tiger fans.
TMoneyBags 0
remember that the Twins go into New York right after you. But then the White Sox have a set against KC right after theyre done with Tampa. It is going to be a fun month.
SBriand 4
remember that the Twins go into New York right after you. But then the White Sox have a set against KC right after theyre done with Tampa. It is going to be a fun month.I have to say I worry more about the Twins right now than I do about the Sox. Twins are on fire, no question about it and they deserve to be where they are and I would not think any differently if they take the AL central. Sox on the other hand don't scare me and them having to play KC is a good thing if you look at their season record against the Royals.
TMoneyBags 0
well lets hope that your fear is realised. I don't know how we keep doing it, but we're winning when our rotation include 2 par rookies, 1 outrageously bad pitcher who leads the league in HR given up, and 1 more whos arm is about to fall off at his shoulder. We may have 3 rookies, and possibly a fourth (Liriano), in the rotation by the end of the year.
TMoneyBags 0
come on, why did Monroe have to go and do that?
greatwhite 0
come on, why did Monroe have to go and do that?Oh well...there's not much we can do. Notice how the only 2 games the Yanks have lost against the Tigers were just, because Mo wasn't in to get the save. There is still no doubt in my mind the Yankees are the better team. I have 3 friends who are Yankee fans and they continue to think theey are the best team in baseball. Maybe so, but on paper it doesn't look to be that way.Love how the leadoff in the bottom of the 9th for NY had his barndoor open. What a chode.
SBriand 4
Going to the game tonight. Hoe we can pull out a win so we can remember what it feels like to win a series.
zimmer4141 0
Hope you like getting wet :)We really need to get on an upswing here quick, those games against the Royals no longer look like gimmes in the end of the year.
SBriand 4
Hope you like getting wet :)We really need to get on an upswing here quick, those games against the Royals no longer look like gimmes in the end of the year.Oh yeah, got wet....but it was a blast. These tickets came from the Tigers Ticket office for ****ing me over because my wife has a different last name than I and she couldn't pick up out tickets one night. They were row 14 on the 3rd base side. Talked to Zumaya and got Maggs to wave at my wife. After the rain delay Grandy, Mags, and CMo were stretching and playing catch in front of us waiting for th grounds crew to get things cleaned up and CMo had noone to play catch with so he found a 10 yr old in the front row in front of us and played catch with him for like 10 minutes. It was really cool. Then he signed a bunch of autographs for the kids. Sucks that we lost but it was a cool night.
LAS22 0
D. Young released. I can't say that I didn't see this coming, I just thought it would be at the end of the season. Our aggressiveness at the plate that got us to where we are, is now our demise. We swing at so many first or second pitches. There is nothing wrong with taking a pitch or two.
SBriand 4
Something fishy is going on around here. I am a little peeved at the Tigers right now and not for the recent slump but for the odd and ridiculous release of Dimitri Young last night. The guy is released after the game and they blame performance. BS. You batted him 3rd last night. Why claim he stinks and bat him in the most important spot? The guy is batting .292 since returning from rehab. None of the players saw this coming. They state that there is no falling off the wagon. Noone saw this coming, DY, the players, the fans. It's BS as far as I am concerned. If we are getting rid of a player that is batting .292 then lets get rid of Perez who is batting under.100 since joining the team. Brandon is batting .245, Maggie O has been dogging it night after night on the bases and in RF. Why are they still here. The whole team is playing like dog s{size=2]h[/size]it, so let's just call it a wash and quit. DY was not the problem. DY, his teammates, and the fans deserve some actual reason as to why this occured. Good to know we got rid of a left hand bat that was hitting .292 and replaced it with an empty locker. Wow, when the bottom falls out the bottom falls out.
SBriand 4
Good win. Back to 5 and 5.5.

Wow, when the bottom falls out the bottom falls out.The Detroit News had an interesting article on it today. The have team sources that say he was a problem in the clubhouse and only cared about himself. But, the same article quotes Todd Jones and Sean Casey as saying he was a hard worker, good guy and good teammate. Very weird!Again tonight, we are too aggressive at the plate. There is nothing illegal, immoral or wrong about taking a pitch or two every now and then. Patience, patience, patience!
