Stoupes22 0
I used to play all day every day. I had a regular weekly game i would alwayz play in. i would try to find a game anywhere possible. The past month i have played about 3 times. The month before that about 10 times.I am just so damn bored with online poker and the nearest casino is about an hour and 15 mins away. I love playing live games. For some reason, i think playing online is one of the most boring things you can do. There is no fun in it whatsoever. I even shuffle chips while playing trying to get the "feel" of a live game it still doesnt do it for me. Does anyone have any suggestions on things i can try or maybe new sites or ANYTHING? i thought taking some time from playing would excel my want to play but it hasnt and im a bit curious why not. i watch new poker episodes of stuff but it doesnt consume my life so any suggestions on things you might do or have done would be greatly appreciated, as well as your thoughts on how boring online play is. SweetDaddyFreak 0
I did this a couple weeks ago. The longer i went the more i felt that i didnt need to play. I played maybe 1 or 2 SNG in one week and that was it. Eventually i got the itch to play online again and started back to my normal playing time. Now instead of seeing it as a chore i enjoy it again. I wont be able to play for 3 weeks in July due to summer school at Brown, so after i get back ill be fresh for the WCOOP. Then again i dont have the convience of having a casino close by

Jerry 0
Ah, todays youth has all the convenience in the world and still manage to complain. Well done. Why are you really asking advice on this?If you hate online poker you don't have to playIf you love live poker but the drive is too long, move, or buy a faster car.
sportsfntc 0
To change things up, I'll play different games, like Stud or Omaha H/L or Pot-Limit Omaha. Just a thought...

nosoul 0
Sounds like you're burned out. You probably just played too much and now your mind is rebelling. Take some time off, find some other hobbies to keep you occupied. Start playing a little bit here and there to see if you get a taste for it again. If it doesn't become fun again, no worries. Maybe poker just isn't for you. It was fun while it lasted, but it's time to move on. It happens.

I got burned out, its just not real enough and even though it is real poker, it doesn't feel like real poker more than it should be. So now friends and I head to Tunica for a couple days every week and play live. Playing live is much more fun and intriguing IMO. Now I play maybe one day online, and I'm starting to have a life, well maybe.
CobaltBlue 662
Take some time off, find some other hobbies to keep you occupied. Is it sad that I originally mistook 'hobbies' for 'boobies' while quickly glancing ahead? Also, I find live play to be pretty grindy due the fact that you're not seeing nearly as many hands. Yeah, the social stuff is great, but I don't think I could work it as a job.As for other stuff that might liven up your online sessions, I like listening to The Circuit - pertinent and funny. Abbaddabba 0
Poker itself gets boring when you play a lot.Ive been sick of it for a few months now. I have old EGM magazines stacked in a closet near me and i pull 'em out to browse through while i get in my daily hands. Having a tv nearby helps a lot too.
krup24 0
I have just come off a 3 day break which is probably my first in 10 months.I was absolutely burnt out.
jayboogie 0
Lots of things you can do to avoid getting burnt out. A break is an obvious one, but it's not always neccessary. You can also play different games ie. Stud, Omaha and etc, start playing tournaments if you primarily play cash games and vice versa. If all you do is grind it out in the same game every day, of course you'll feel bored and sick of playing. Other options are taking shots, this is always fun for me . Nothing is more exciting for me than to be playing the higher games, you need to be very careful about taking shots, don't do something like risk 50% of your bankroll in 1 shot. I usually will only take shots when I've been running well and feel good about my play as well as the table conditions. When you are running not so hot, you can always nutbar at a low limit. It's nice to play for fun and for stakes that don't matter sometimes. It probably won't be profitable, but it will relieve stress and nothing is more fun than putting bad beats on all the donks that constantly put them on you.
