Weaver 0
6 handed 1/2NLHE game... play is somewhat loose but no pedro or anything... 1st time playing with villiain and ive got a minimal read due to less than an hour of play... relatively tight/standard play though observed so far. stacks: villain has about $250ish? and ive got $174 to start the hand 6 handed at this point... villain makes it $8 UTG... in the cutoff i raise to $22 with AQo villian calls... $47 in pot going to flop flop is As7d8d villain bets out $30 i raise to $75 villain smooth calls turn is 4c villain bets $70 and i have $77 in my stack.... whats your play and what hand are you putting villain on? (villain hates AJ/AT too- as told to me by others more experinced at playing with villain)
No_Neck 0
I think your preflop raise was kind of silly, I wouldn't want to be playing a big pot with AQo with no read good on the villian.can you think of a hand that you can beat that he would be playing like this?I know you haven't been at the table that long but.... I can't think of a hand you can beat besides 99-KK and it seems like it might be it.

(known to hate AJ or lower so im not looking at 2 pair either for this preflop action)

No_Neck 0
well only hands really beating you post flop is, AK/ or a set, yeah but the problem is in this case I think we are beat more often than we are not. There is just not much value in AQo especially when you are playing a TAG. In Limit yes but in NL you are looking for big edges, not hands where you could lose your stack on a hand that at least 50% of the time you are behind.
Weaver 0
well only hands really beating you post flop is, AK/ or a set,right.... 77, 88, unlikely AA... or AK are the hands im stressin here... KK or QQ coulda been overplayed but very unlikely...i have a reputation in this game as being rather LAG.... a lot of the players are rather weak and i scoop lots of small pots and play my hands blind sometimes (without them realizing that...)i could see this player calling my reraise with 88... AA obviously, and AK... know they wouldnt with AJ or less....i ended up folding... wound up making that money back in about 4 hands.... and owning that player the rest of the night.... player appeared to be very tight/solid and it later reassured me that my fold was very likely the correct move... iggymcfly 0
The preflop play sucks as does the flop play. By the turn though, you've pretty much committed yourself so you might as well call. I'm sure as hell not folding AQ here getting 4 to 1.
