dredubble 0
Hey Everyone, I dont post here often, but I read this forum quite frequently and feel like I can get some answers for a problem im having. Last night my Neteller account was "hacked" into and 1K was transferred to a sports betting site while I was sleeping. I talked to the investigation dept at neteller and they say they are working on it right now...(hmmm). I have yet to hear back from them and am now worried that I may never see that THOUSAND DOLLARS again!!! Has anyone in here been "e-robbed" like this before? If so, what was the final outcome??? I have my neteller account linked to my checking account for INSTAcash purposes and I am afraid these criminals will now assauly my "real" bank account. Since then I have talked to my bank and hopefully am protected, but I am looking to hear your advice/stories/opinions on the safety and security of these sites (neteller, paypal etc...) help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!oh, and i just read the post pinned above.....sorry!Andre

The reports are that Neteller has been very cooperative.I looked up your FCP forum account and noticed that your e-mail account isn't a web based one such as Yahoo or Hotmail. Is the e-mail associated with your Neteller either of these web based providers or something different. The reason that I'm asking is that it seems some others have had their Neteller accounts hacked into after first having their e-mail hacked into where their Neteller information was still in their inbox.BobFCP Poker Manager

I run it through Microsoft Outlook. Now that I think back, my neteller ID number and other neteller info is in my inbox on Outlook. Possibly a trojan horse? or some other virus? Also, thanks for replying....I hate feeling helpless here.Check your deleted items folder for password requests, let us know if you find them.I will check this when I get home! ty
erac22 0
After reading this along with other horror stories, I just went to my email account and deleted every email with secure information on it, and transferred the info to a password protected word document on my computer. I am also going to change my passwords monthly for neteller along with any poker sites I have a significant amount of money on. Neteller, IMO, is just too covenient to stop using, but needless to say, you have to be uber careful.erac

I noticed that same day and cancelled my bank acct before the transactions cleared, but I think neteller is now coming after me for the money. They say their investigating but for some reason they cant get any info on whose acct the money was transferred to. They have not been very helpful, and basically told me it was my fault, and I have to figure it out. I dont recommend using neteller. On top of that I"m having a big problem withdrawing money from FCP now without using neteller.

Not saying that's the case, I'm just telling you what it looks like.I have a different e-mail address for neteller and my fcp poker account. I also don't keep any money in my neteller account and I check my bank transactions every day so if anything happened. (like someone made an instacash deposit somewhere) then I'd know immediately. nutzbuster 7
NEVER leave $$$ sitting in Neteller (or any other 3rd party transfer company).I transfer cash quickly to whichever gaming site I am on, or right back to my bank account, and alway in less than 24 hours. I never let it just sit in Neteller. They only ever have it for a few minutes. GLedit: And erase ALL gaming/Neteller/etc. info from your Google or Yahoo accounts.

Have different passwords for every poker account and email account, and use random letters and numbers. Seems to work for me, and the majority. The minority get hacked, it's unfortunate, but I'm sure it's usually because of something they "left" in the open.- Jordan
