just playing devil's advocate. i'll be the angle shooter. the trip king guy says pay me, i say no and it escalates to the point where i am threatend with violence. my response would simply be that i am leaving with ALL of my money. if i am attacked, i will have 2 responses. the frst will be that i will protect myself. the second whether i win or lose the fight will be that i will have the police at that game to arrest whoever attacked me and whoever is running the game if the game was illegal. i will not be in any legal touble. whoever fought me and "attempted to rob me" which is what you would have been doing, is goint to go to jail. just remember that, if you ever find yourself in such a situation. it's better to just get the angle shooter out of there than to start violence. because you really have no idea of what kind of person you are messing with and a little money isn't wotrth legal trouble or worse.

This is unbelievably low class. And pure horse$hit. If the host had any balls at all, he'd tell that dweeb to never, ever come back. This is a HOME game, for christ's sake! I don't care if the guy never said officially 'call'...he wasn't laying down his top two pair and everyone knew it.

ditto....real cheap, but yes, he is right, but im not saying that he cavablnt kick the shizzit outta him. Just not invite him back if the table is strongly against him. You also need to set the rules straight next time as house games have different rules, and this is probably one of them, about flipping cards up. Technically in a cash game, even DN has said this in his blog that he has flipped cards up before making a decision. It used to be allowed in tourneys, but now its not allowed. So point is, yeah he has a right to be pissed, but technically its his own fault

He didn't say "call".He didn't push his chips in.He didn't call. Dude flipped his KK too early.
Not so cut & dried, I don't think. Such technicalities are true in casinos, where hard and fast rules are rigid, are made clear, and are strenuously enforced by dealers, bosses, supervisors, managers, and video cameras. In home games (every one I've played in at least), the only hard & fast rule is what is right in the eyes of the majority stands, with a veto going to the host. If everyone else at the table, including the host, considered it a call, it's a call. House rules.

If your playing with cash on the table you cant do much but tell him to pay. If your using chips just tell the person running the exchanging to not cash his chips back in and give the money to the player who actually won the hand. that will settle it right then B)

If he never said call then he didnt call. I dont care whats right or watever. In the game of poker the player with KK made the mistake and its his own fault.
Correct- In a cash game you can flash your cards to get a read. He never called. The player with KK screwed up.

It seems in this scenario it is irrelevent if showing your cards means they are dead as the QK is going to fold if they aren't dead.If this happened in my home game I'd tell QK to cash out and leave and that he isn't welcome back, unless of course he is a fish.

Common sense says KQ was going to call no matter what so he should pay. Technically speaking, KQ says he never said call and KK flipped his cards too early...he shouldn't pay. Let him leave with his money. Show him the door, tell him he is not welcome in the game any longer. When/If he returns....fist, grill, fist, grill, fist, grill. Then shove two red kings up his *** and tell him to piss off.

Did you finish the hand? Before or after he said he didnt call? The best ending would be turn Q, river Q, KK guy says "good thing you didn't call" and takes the pot.Seriously, that should be considered to be a call. You should always side against an angle shooter. If he refuses to pay, like most people here are saying, he is asked to leave and not invited back. Unless you have a card mechanic in your group. Then you should just cheat him out of his money and give it to the other guy.
