statedogg 0
Several new players this season, some that seem to be possible donators to me. Wonder why no Ivey?

Run it Thrice 0
My incredibly uninformed guess would be that Ivey prefers the big game because it spreads more games he has an edge at. NL hold em is the main staple of most of these players, and althought Ivey definitely has an edge at it, from what I understand he has a bigger edge at other games, particularly stud. Additionally he seems to have a reputation for outlasting opponents, I have no idea how long high stakes poker goes on, but I'm betting it doesn't play for 24 hours straight.Again, that's all just random guesses and assumptions, so take it for what you will. Kuge 0
Several new players this season, some that seem to be possible donators to me. Wonder why no Ivey?I'm pretty sure he doesn't want anyone to see how he plays in cash games, he is a big game player after all. No info on ivey in cash games = +EV for him, bwhahaha
natan106 0
From what i have heard, it is a very reasonable explanation as to why he isn't playing. He would rather play a bunch of rich businessmen than a table of the best seasoned pros. Why play in a hard game when he can find a much softer one?

zeken 0
I read that Ivey refuses to play in the High Stakes Poker game on GSN as he doesnt want to reveal how he plays to the other players. He doesnt want them picking up anyting on him when they watch it.

AZWildcat 0
Maybe he just wasnt in town during the 2 days of taping.Nope.... he's said it himself many times before, he doesn't want his hands revealed in cash game situations. Its basically his way of saying "I'm better than you all and you'll just have to pay to figure me out on your own."I don't blame him... you shouldn't reveal your edge in this business... Besides, anyone who can pay cash for a McLaren Mercedes must be doing something right...

Besides, anyone who can pay cash for a McLaren Mercedes must be doing something right...I can respect that from a poker aspect. I guess that tells you something about how good he really is and how much he really makes at the tables considering he must value his poker edge higher than any earning opportunities gained by the TV exposure. Looking at this seasons lineup, I figure some of these guys are sitting with more than they should and giving up maybe significant edge to the comptetion, probably b/c they value the TV exposure so highly.
