HangukMiguk 8
Liz Lieu's matches with Erik Sagstrom were 3 matches at 200k a piece... not 20k.thus makes the achievement even better.
Sean_ec 0
I've actually always wondered this, how did she qualify/get to the final table of the TOC?It was essentially a 10 person sit n go right?I mean...lets be honest. A random FCP poster has a chance in a 10 person sit n go with the table....not the best chance but not that much worse that Duke had there.

koolromeo 0
why hasn't mimi tran been mentioned? you guys saw her crush table on high stakes poker. nothing against harmon, but mimi was the queen of that show.
rhill6537 0
I never thought she was hot until she got the divorce and started banging shannon E's ex. I think that was a downgrade for him however.
psujohn 0
also, Jennifer Tilly has had impressive cleavage recentlyFYPJennifer Tilly has made one embarrassing play after another on everything I've seen her in. Yeah TV doesn't give a true indication of how a person is playing but you normally get at least an occassional good play by people who have a clue.Anyone who doesn't follow the phrase "best female poker player" with "Jennifer Harmon" has their head up their *** or thinks that "poker" = "NLHE tournaments on TV". Mimi Tran did well on HSP but NLHE isn't Jen's game. You'd have to put Mimi on any list of "one of the best female poker players" but I don't think anyone else comes close to Jen. And yes, Annie would be on that list as well.

Jam-Fly 8
She's a good player i reckon. Won the TOC, the Omaha Hi-Lo bracelet. She's obviously no where near as good as Jen Harman, but she is still pretty good. obviously since she's a woman is where she gets most of the media, and being howards little sis, and coaching ben affleck, and having 4 kids, and she pretty good looking too. chris26356 0
well, to me it seems like a popularity contest rather than who is the best (when they chose Annie). I'm sure that she is a great player, but since the producers wanted to show that they were not discriminating between sex, they had to choose a woman, and Annie is more appealing to the general public than Jennifer Harmon is.But let's be honest, I don't think that there is hardly a comparison between JH and AD. It's obvious that JH is a more accomplished player. She plays in the big cash game (what more do you want?). It's like taking Barry Greenstein, who plays in the 'big game', and comparing him to someone like Josh Arieh. Josh Arieh plays in high limits like Annie Duke does, and Barry Greenstein plays in the same game as Jennifer Harmon, but no one (I hope) would think that Josh Arieh is comparable to Barry.Speaking of Barry, why wasn't he invited to the TOC? I guess Annie took his spot.I view that the higher limits you play regularly, the better of a player you are. This may not always be true, but I think it's a good indicator (unless you are the luckiest player in the world).

This may not always be true, but I think it's a good indicator (unless you are the luckiest player in the world).According to Mike Matesow, Gus Hanson is the worst player in the world, and he plays the big game often.Poker Super Stars II game
leftygolfer 7
Highly competitive, a decent poker player albeit probably an overated one and a sore loser. I have nothing against her but do not like whining sore losers at the table (which she has been guilty of in the past). Just becasue somebody doesn't know enough to lay down against you when they are behind does not give you reason to castigate them . You should be jumping for joy that they made such a big mistake against you and take it on the chin. If you can't take the beats you shouldn't be playing becasue it is those very same mistakes that give you your profit againstt weaker players. As a person I do not know her but have spoken to her a few times and she seems pleasant enough but I know her brother Howard better. Here's all you need to know. handsfactor 0
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't 2004 the year Jennifer Harmon was having her Kidney transplant? If so I'm guessing she was probably unavailable to play in the Tournament of Champions because of health reasons, and the producers wanted a woman so they went with the most well known. To the average person Annie Duke is more well known than Harmon because Annie promotes herself. (I'm not saying that's a bad thing) I'd be willing to guess that Annie makes more money from endorsements than playing poker these days (again not a bad thing) while that is definitely not the case with Harmon. As far as ranking the female players on their poker skills I would have to say.#1. HarmonThen a fairly substantial drop-off#2. K. Liebert ( If we can in fact confirm that she does not have a penis)#3. Cyndi Violette#4. Annie DukeAnd another big drop off to the rest of the pack
BeaverStyle 1
she completely destroyed Phil Hellmuth HU at the '04 TOC(however, the deck also hit her in the face on several occasions). She's a knowledgeable pro who needs to build a better rap sheet, IMO.Winning the TOC is great... but she needs to start doing better in other tourneys. Let's see what happens in this year's WSOP, eh?Oh, and she was never 'poker hot.'
gkunit20 1
1. Jen2. Kathy3. Annie4. too distant to mentionAbsoloutly incorrect, save Jen.Top 3 female poker players:1. Jen Harmen2. Liz Lieu3. Cindy ViolletteAll 3 regularly play high stakes limit games (400-800) and dominate them. All 3 grind it out at the table and worked their way to the top.4 would probably be Patty Ghalager (sp) or Mimi Tran. Kathy is 5.
jtengan 0
Several years ago on the rgp newsgroup, daniel made several lists in response to david sklansky of players who in daniel's opinion, were better than david at a particular ring game. Annie Duke was in the lists for Hi Lo Split, limit holdem, No Limit Holdem, and a decathlon of ring games. These lists ranged from 5 to 30 players, and I don't know if he meant to put them in order, but Annie was 1, 1, 6, and 2.We all know that daniel is not biased toward annie duke, so I guess we can assume that she is a pretty good poker player, although daniel has stated that jennifer harman is the best female player in his opinion. Here's a link to the thread on rgp:rgp thread
matt21sz 0
It seems to me that only 12.42% of people can spell Jen Harman's last name correctly. There is no "O" in her last name people. DanielNegreanu 141
That thread is from a long, long, time ago when I didn't regularly play in the bigger games. Once I started playing in the big game and seeing how things went my opinions changed drastically. As for top women, only one woman in the world has the tools to win at the highest levels of poker. Only one woman has successfuly stood the test of time and shown a profit in the game game. Only two women have tried, mind you, but frankly, the only other candidate that could play in the mixed games would be Cindy. I love Cindy to death, but I think the big game would be a little too tough for her. However, I'd gladly take a piece of her action in the $400-$800 games. Mimi Tran and Liz Lieu are hold'em specialists and are very good at the game. The women that get the most attention rarely has anything to do with poker skill- similar to the men. Oh, and I'd stake Josh Arieh heads up against Barry Greenstein in a heart beat. Not just because Josh is my friend, but he is an excellent all around player that plays all the games well. He also has a ton more experience playing heads up poker.

mcpickl 0
clearly these threads pop up about Annie being overrated because many people find her aggravating(myself included)She has a World Series braceletShe finished 10th in a World Series Main EventShes been to a dozen World Series final tablesEven throwing out the made for TV TOC $2 million dollar win, shes won another million plus in career tourney earnings.I think she stacks up with the best of the rest female players in the world(everyone is fighting for number 2 behind Jennifer Harman)There are so many other overrated players that Annie is nowhere near the top of the list.I still expect daily to see the end of those FullTilt commercials and see an airbrushed space where Clonie Gowen used to stand.and no offense to Daniel, but Evelyn clearly wouldn't have so much attention if she weren't so darned good-looking. Plus she seems to be well-liked.Annies bedside manner clearly hurts her
blueodum 0
I've read that Kristi Gazes is a pretty good mixed game player at the mid-high stakes. Beyond her, Violette and Harman, I don't think there are many women who play mixed games at those stakes successfully. The fact is, as with most new players, women coming into the game these days play Hold'Em almost all the time.
StrippersNBlow 0
Annie Duke was the 2nd to 5th best woman player in the world. After her divorce, she trimmed her monster 70s bush on the advice of some friends, in preparation for the singles scene. It was her mojo. She'll be back after 4-6 years when the chia returns. Mark my word.
