Lhe Has Me Tilting, So I Bought In To Some Plo8

Recommended Posts

After losing some very unbeleivable hands on the LHE tables, I took a break and decided to play some PLO8. Playing outside of my bankroll, but on tilt so I don't care right??? lolRunning good so far- already up 1/4 of my buy-in. Opponents so far like to see lots of flops, not very aggressive though without the goods from the limited showdowns I've seen.Full Tilt PokerPot Limit Omaha Ring gameBlinds: $0.50/$17 playersConverterPre-flop: (7 players) Hero is Button with [Qs] [4h] [2c] [3s] UTG+1, folds, MP1 (poster) checks ($40 left in stack), CO folds, Hero calls, SB raises to $5 ($15 left in stack) , BB folds, MP1 calls, Hero calls.Position limp only. Mediocre potential for high, but farily good low potential if an ace flops. Still bad, or okay to limp there? What about the raise - still okay to call, or let it go?Flop: [Qh] [Kc] [5c] ($16, 4 players)SB checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks. Not the flop I was looking for, but raiser and caller have not shown any interest in this flop. Take the free card?Turn: [6d] ($16, 4 players)SB is all-in $15.15, MP1 calls, Hero ???I folded fairly quickly, even though I have improved. Clear fold? Do the small stack sizes change anything here (ie. if they had over $100 like me would it change things)?

Getting good odds on my money if I call that pre-flop raise, with position, am I not? Is it bad due to their small stacks, or is it a good thing that their stacks are small? In my limited PLO8 experience, the big raise there means one of two things, A 2 or Aces...

Bad primarily because your hand has virtually no high potential and depends desperately on an Ace for a low. Given that you rightly think the SB's raise means he has one ace (and probably two), the odds of getting your ace on the flop are even worse than normal.Play to scoop. This hand's only reasonable chance of scooping is a wheel. While the position is nice, it's not worth the extra investment to play, especially given the limited implied odds if you hit because of the small stacks.

Only if you are ready to use your position.I might bet that flop about 75% of the time, although I would have prefered it not to be suited.Pre-flop, calling the raise depends a bit on the players. If SB is a maniac, then I would not bother calling the raise (limp is fine). If SB can lay down a hand then play your postiion.
