skinny 0
Playing in a live tournment.I have 6000 in chips, the blinds are 300-600. theres 13 ppl left, and i had just successfully stolen 2 rounds of blinds. Despite having 6000 in chips in the middle of the pack in terms of chip count, the blinds got really high.I pick AKoffsuit one from the button. UTG (chip leader about 15000) limps, player to his left short stack moves all (2500). folds around to me i decide to re raise all in to isolate myself and the short stack, (i put him on a small pair and was willing to take and coin flip) fold back to UTG and he thinks about it for awhile and finally calls.they Turn over UTG 1010, short stack 88 (i was right) i have AK offthey both flop a set and the pocket 10's take us both out.My question is should i ahve folded and just waited for the final table being about 2 spots away, or should i ahve called leaving myself with 2500 left, or was i right in making that play? You'll learn.

You'll learn.I disagree...I push here too. UTG limp could mean anything. You're getting your chips in a situation where you're likely to either be racing or dominating against the shortie, with an overlay. Unless utg is trapping with KK or AA, I don't see what hand he can possibly call here with - if you don't like your hand enough to raise, you're going to call 2 all-ins? Clearly this guy can't fold a hand, but even if you knew his hand and you knew he was going to call, why wouldn't you want to get your money in?
copernicus 0
Not quite enough information, but unless its a very flat payout scale pushing is the better play. How valuable is making the final table? You are two away, and if the small stack gets knocked out you are one away. Folding an redistributing the other 2 players chips doesnt affect your winning chances materially, but it does improve your ITM chances.Pushing is almost certainly +tcEV, I would estimate about +400. Also 2 out 3 of your + situations have you scooping and taking over the chip lead, which has a lot of $EV.

skinny 0
thanks for the replies, the tournmant is like apoker leauge 2 tournemants a week. final table all get points, and the winner of the tournaments plus top 10 in pts go to the tournament of champions where a WPT event mostly the niagara falls one (we are in toronto). SO making the final is important in acculimating points, but im the kinda person that really just wants to win. ive come in 2nd but still ahvent found a win there, so im kinda really searching for it.
