tlane 0
It's his responsibility to observe the table...it is not your responsibility to fill him in on information that he missed. For anyone who thinks that "lying" was unethical...would it be unethical to not answer at all?...
TS Clark 0
when you play poker, you are trying to win money...ethically or otherwise. The sentiment above is correct pre-elipssis, total crap after that. It's this kind of charming sentiment that gives gambling and poker the wonderful reputation it has with people worldwide. If you have to angle-shoot or cheat to win, then you suck. If you justify by saying "anything to win" -- then you suck. That is all. With that said, I don't think the OP did anything wrong. If you believe a person at a poker table when you ask them a question like he did, then that's your weight to carry. When you pushed all in after his re-raise, you told him the truth. He just didn't listen.
doudave 0
so he thought he had the advantage because he thought you didnt look at your cards. So if hes so ethical how come he didnt ask you to look at your cards at some point? The answer is because it would be to his advantage if you didnt look at your cards. Guess what I'm trying to say is that he had no problem when he thought he was taken advantage of u and when he found out you were taken advantage of him, he started to call you names. That all equals a sore loser, poker is not a gentlemens game, as I have said on here before. The whole point of the game is deception and at the end only one thing counts and thats how much money you have won or lost not how you got there.
timwakefield 69
If he had whole-heartedly believed you then he wouldn't have agonized over calling you. KQ is an insta-call against a random hand. But that's kind of beside the point....I guess your opponent hasn't yet realized that almost everything players say about their cards is a lie.
