twebza 0
The following took place in a .50/.1 NL live cash game. After running bad for about a half hour, I had lost my original $60 buy in, and was steaming to say the least. My table knows my long and decorated history of tilt.I buy in for $80 dollars (more than what we normall buy-in) determined to chew up the now bigger stacks at the table. I pick up A A in the small blind to several limpers. I make it $4.50 to go. One of the more naive players says, "Chris, did you even look at your cards?" I quickly reply "no."The table folds around to my nemesis who had been catching cards the last two days and had pulled in $400 even at our micro-stakes. The villain is one of my good friends, but this shouldn't carry too much moral weight as he is very wealthy and always plays his hardest against me.Thinking I was making this move dark and on tilt, he declares a raise. He makes it $12 to go on top of my raise. Without hesitation I push all in. Now I'll remind you that they take me for an honest kid and thought that I was doing this blind. After agonizing, the villain calls with K Q . My rockets hold up, and I scoop a $165 dollar pot. After the hand he says stuff you would expect, such as "Dude, not cool" and "That's bush," and "you shouldn't lie like that."To the last comment I snapped back "I lie everytime I bluff, it's a part of the game."Despite my defending myself, I couldn't help but feel a little guilty and I've been wondering if this move was fair game. What do you guys think? Is there room for moves like this in poker? Or do you maintain a certain degree of honesty with things such as "Have you looked at your hole cards?"
Vatche 0
you did nothing wrong...he probably didnt even believe you, he just couldnt fold KQ suited...and even if he believed you, thats his fault.
Wandigo 1
Whatever you gotta do at the table, whether is psychological or verbal, to take down a pot, I say go for it. It's his own fault for not paying attention if you even looked and also his own fault for calling your all-in. I think it would have been obvious that you looked after making the push. Nice. That's not on you.
MikeR 0
People need to pay attention at home games. I hate when people are looking at the dealer in the middle of the hand goin "Duh, who raised before the flop?". If you didn't answer him, the same thing would have happened. If you told him you did look at your cards and that you had pocket aces, he probably wouldn't believe you and still called.

Guy shoulda payed attention instead of just asking the guy if he looked at his cards.

TheSkearnel 0
Thats "bush"??Has the president become a common term for immoral and deceitful conduct?Didn't really see a SW or anything, so I'm not sure if you know what that really means. It sorta means something a professional wouldn't do. You hear it all the time in regards to baseball, when a pitcher throws at a batter. They'll scream "That's bush, man!", insinuating that it is something that is done in the minors, also known as "the bush leagues"....................That was long winded. I hope you got what I meant. And, if there was an implied SW in there.............well..............disregard the whole post. -Shawn K
StrippersNBlow 0
In a casino playing with a bunch of strangers, go for it. At a low stakes home game with friends, bush league. You steam out of control too, so maybe they're used to you being a jerk.
Mercury69 3
AMG! He asked you a question and YOU LIED?!?! Never heard of the like, of all the dishonorable...Oh, wait, it's poker!

Mercury69 3
What really makes me laugh is the guy who called your all-in. He's pissed he didn't get free money. Well, **** him. If he wants to play "honest", he should have let you take the pot. Instead he went in for a cheap score and got upset because he got outhustled. Fuggin idiot.
MasterLJ 0
Anyone else see our Hero's friend as trying to take advantage of a player he thinks is on tilt? Either that or he's an idiot for jamming with KQ sooooted. In any case, "dats pokah babeeeeee"
