FatBurger 0
How so? That seems about right to me. Someone who takes poker seriously enough to read a magazine about it would have a higher likelihood of being a winning player.

Someone who takes poker seriously enough to read a magazine about it would have a higher likelihood of being a winning player. It's still a little high.I'd put the number closer to 10%. diamondhead 0
it may be true that winning players are more apt to read about poker more.
fleung22 1
Think about how stupid the average poker player is.By definition half of them are more stupid.I doubt over 50% of the Cardplayer readers are winning players. I know guys who have read every poker book published but wouldn't beat a 12 year old with the rake. There are plenty of readers who are just interested in the game but will be lifetime losers. mrdannyg 274
55% of Cardplayer.com readers are winning poker players.http://www.cardplayer.com/poll/index.php?poll_id=359Does this seem like people are deceiving themselves?certainly a larger percentage than average of the magazine's readers will be winning players, but 55% is almost certainly too high.for live play, i've heard the number is more like 10%. online play who knows, but my PT database says 40%.according to that poll only 12.6% are losing players. its probable more like triple that. keltelle 0
It's still a little high.I'd put the number closer to 10%.I really don't think the % would be as low as 10%. That is only 1 out of every 10 players win on a normal basis. But yes i agree with the 55% being high
CodyHartman 0
we have like a 90% winning player ratio here, atleast that is what I read.

MasterLJ 0
I believe it. My PT database of 220k hands shows that 39% of players are winners (if it's valid to extrapolate from sessions to overall with that big of a sample, I think it is). It's not that hard to believe that a population who subscribes to a magazine and demonstrates a willingness to improve their game, have a 16% edge.
