BNH77 0
This is a great thread that comes at an interesting time for me as well... I started playing online poker a couple of years ago, at that time I was in great shape playing adult hockey 2-3 times a week, during this time frame I also became a 9-5'er so my motivation to get the rink decreased and I started spending most of my free time playing Internet poker. I gained a 10-15 lbs over this time and felt that I was sleeping and eating at bad times and going through the day as a zombie most of the time. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to join a Recreational club with my fiance and we now play squash 3-4 times a week, Im also hitting the stationary bike and trying to eat smaller and healthier meals. I feel much better and my poker game has improved since making the changes. A Balanced life style is definetly +EV.
CaneBrain 95
Live with your mother and have her map out your meals. Can't beat it.-TreBetter yet, find a girlfriend (fiance) who can really cook. Now you get good healthy food and sex. Count it.Since my girlfriend and I moved in together I have lost 20 pounds. Played college tennis then hurt my back had surgery and gained weight. Of course she bitches when I play too much poker but nothing is perfect.
HtotheNootch 0
If you live by yourself, cook in bulk. I like to make things that I can freeze/reheat in a hurry. For example, one Sunday make a Jumbalaya or something, but instead of making a meal's worth, make a week's worth, and freeze the rest. Another week, make something else that holds up to freezing, and make another week's worth. Repeat as necessary...

Abbaddabba 0
Tim hortons drive through is the usual for me. Ham and Swiss sandwhich combo... for only 0.8 big bets. The only other place that's open 24 hours is mcdonalds. Ugh.I eat a lot of cereal too, and i go out to a local diner with a few friends once in a while at about 8am before i go to bed.
PrtyPSux 0
heh this thread is good...when I started playing seriously 1.5 yrs ago, I stopped doing any type of exercise. I *used* to be extremely fit (i was about to be a pro soccer player) like 8% body fat, eat 6 meals a day, exercise 2+ hrs a day etc....now with poker in the picture I am lucky if I get in 3 meals a day, its usually 2 meals and about 2 beers a day. Im still "skinny" but I have noticed sudden growth of a second chin and a bigger gut. Its tough for me because my schedule is just completely messed up, on a usual week it looks something like this:wake up at 3-5pm stay in bed for like an hourget up shower and eat.start playing like at 7pmplay till at least 1 am but usually till 3am eat, watch tv, have a beer and relax, go to sleep like at 5 or 6 am.with a schedule like that my health has really gone down the drain, my physical apearance is not like it was 2 years ago, but more importantly Im getting sick more often, I feel sleepy/tired (even though I sleep alot), and I am never really hungry. Eating fast food, or microwavable food is by far the easiest way to eat, but I definately need to start getting healthy things. Im Mexican, so getting things like flour tortillas out of my diet is nearly impossible, but Im going to try. Im also going to try to exercise at least an hour before I start playing and start eating healthier.
fatman 1
Thankfully because of the vast amounts of pot I was smoking + 2 packs a day, my metabolism was so sped up that I actually was in the best shape of my life during that time.Yeah, I bet you were in great shape.
myenemy 0
Vitamins I cannot stress vitamins enough. GNC Mega Man multi-vite. It will keep you so much more "even keeled". Less mood swings, less sickness...I highly recommend it. Also, doesnt anyone here have a day job? F**k me!!
