weishan14 0
Luck or skill?March 08, 2005Phil Hellmuth went into a hand with a great local player Andy Gamboa. Phil had QQ, Andy had AA. The flop was no help to either player.A Queen came on the turn to give Phil the pot and knock out Andy Gamboa. At the time Phil had $25 left.We made the comment that that is how you win major championships. Phil has said that he never gets lucky. He got very lucky on this hand. BilliardsBoy 0
Knocked out by ducks, that blows. I personally am not a fan of the whole bounty thing. Not trying to cite what happened to DN as an example, but it's like "Hey, even if you make a bad call and get lucky against a pro, we give you money, so suck out green horns!" A little drastic, but you get the idea. If I'm callin DN for all my chips with DN, that possibility of and extra 5K may help my decision. Just my 2 cents.

On the one hand, you'll get people calling a little more loose than they normally would. But on the other hand, you're still calling an all in bet that can basically kill your tournament if you lose. Plus, I dont know how many chips the guy had, but if he had a lot, calling with a pocket pair against Daniel's aggressive play style wasn't the WORST decision in the world.
