Brag Post! (and Has Nothing To Do With Poker)

You say Engineering as a major of being hard. As laughable as it may be a music major is just as hard just because of the dedication needed to even accomplish your goal of graduating. So just to simplify as easy as you have heard most of the time college isnt just a piece of cake. You're paying alot of money for some reason and that would be???
I'm still trying to make sense of what you just said....the first sentence especially gets me....I guess what you're getting at is, don't do music or engineering?

Engineering is a hard major. In my first year at UT, I was a CSET major. (Computer Science & Engineering Technology). It's the kind of stuff I want to go in to but the math/science that you need to complete for these coureses is RIDICULOUS. This is why I switched to Communication, which is a fairly simple major if you have good common sense and can handle lots of projects, public speeking and reading.College certainly isn't a piece of cake, I don't care if you commute or not, because I know people from both areas. Sure it's a blast when you go to parties and everything, but you can't let it get out of hand because I've seen so many people fail because they are too hungover to show up for a lecture or would rather go out and party rather than study. A lot of college (especially the required courses, regardless of your major) are long lectures, lots of reading and a buttload of memorization. If you want to actually get your money's worth and learn something, you can't get away with it by partying every night.

the easiest major ever is Professional Golf Management from ASUI probably wont use the golf stuff once i graduate i would get a real job because its a buisness degree with a concentration in golf course management. You take like 15 credits a semester and half of them and the are at a comm college and the other half are on the ASU polytechnic campus (Joke of a campus) but you graduate with a ASU dipolma. I dont go to class dont do hw dont study, have a 3.9 GPA and am on the Deans list :icon_dance:Edit: You also get to play most of the courses out here in scottsdale for free. In season prices $250 for major courses, i pay $0. very +EV

I totally understand where he OP is coming from, but I kind of miss college. The real world 40-hour a week grind really sucks.

Last month of H.S for me too. I'll most likely be going to U Michigan (unless i get off the waitlist at Stanford) next year, and judging from his new avatar I think i'll be joining Zimmer. For those who said college is tougher than highschool, how long ago did you go to highschool and was it private or public and how popular were AP courses by then?

Well if u parent pay for everything, then yeah, its the life. But if you have to work and go to school 15 hours a week, its no fun. congrats Wandigo, gl.School is overrated.
hell yes it is. if i leave school now and get a job (a major option) then my parents say i can still live with them for 10 bucks a week rent!!!! they dont believe in making money off their kids haha

Yeah, you will be joining me next year. If you can, sign up for orientation on June 12th. I'm also one of those who can't wait for college mostly because I don't think the workload will be that much worse, especially if I use my time well, and the social scene should be way better than high school, which pretty well sucks.

Kind of miss college?! College is the best 4-5 years of your life, so cherish it. Drinking 5 days a week, sleeping around, having no real responsibilities besides school,,,,the list goes on.I really wish I could go back.

I graduated from high school in 01, took every AP course my school offered. I could of graduated high school in three years but choose to take some extra AP classes when they were still free. I never did any work in high school, I do more work for one class in college then I did for all classes in high school. I still love it, but I'm getting to the point where I want to move on. Quite frankly the pressure of having to get good grades is getting to me.

Mind if I ask where you go to school now, and what you got on those AP's?I used to go to a prestigious (uber snobby) New England boarding school and everyone that I've talked to who has graduated from there said the workload is the same in college, but in college you have much more time to complete that work.

Congrats on graduating! And yeah, college is awesome - I'm still in freshman year and it's depressing enough that I'll be a sophomore next year, let alone that eventually I'm gonna have to go to the real world.

I'd have to say college is harder. I took a ton of AP/honors/all the high level classes that I didn't need to take and skated through 90% of them. I passed one of the two tests I took (didn't take multiple others b/c we were on block and taking ap test at end of year when the class ends in Jan didnt work well for the one i didnt pass. I took the SATII for it right after the class and got a 700 so its not like i didnt know my ****.) I go to Cal Poly SLO, which is a real legit school, essentially 4th or 5th best school in cali behind stanford ucla berkley and kinda a toss up with ucsd. I had the grades/scores to be a tech major (engineering, math etc) but that crap bored me so I'm a bus major. and its not easy. I wish it was but it's not. People write off business majors b/c they aren't engineers but it's not my fault i have a personality and don't want to spend my life in a lab. (not saying all enigneers are like this but we are basically the top eng school in the country so we get some winners) college is fun, but it is def harder then high school because of the work and how much more there is to do (at least in cali).
