Foxy Poker 0
Hello all new to the site.....Im a college student with no job and I have been doing very well with 20- 50 dollar sng's sometimes 70........ You have to beat 4 people to cash in these tournaments and for a winning player it does not seem to difficult.... At the lower end of the spectrum if you win a 20 you net a profit of 50 dollars. Once again this is not considering the multi tabling factor...... I am up 2-3000 this month just playing these tournaments with an estimated cash rate of 80 percent.... What are you guys feeling about these 6 person sng's and do you think it is possible to make a decent living strictly playing these.Making 50 dollars an hour seems pretty good... any advice or input?.......... Thanks in advance..............J

xxxmen 0
I've been playing SNg's but I find that there are just too many swings or whatthey call VARIANCE. It is a very difficult way to profit in my opinion.I would like to hear what others say because I play alot of $5-$10 turbos-shorthanded because I don't have the time to play and would also like toknow what type of profitability there is in this, especially Turboshorthanded. suicideking 0
Once variance kicks in make sure you post. 80% cash rate? Won't last. Foxy Poker 0
I personally hate turbo.....I let the weaker players take themselves out in the early rounds and only play group 1 hands until the blinds get to 50-100 which at that point of time there are usually 4 people left, if your lucky 3....... I really don't see the advantage of playing turbo for skilled winning players it just increases the luck factor IMHO
xxxmen 0
I think I will try 6 hand shorthand next time. Does FCP have shorthand regular? Is it not usually 5 player and not 6 player?

You are also able to 8 table turbo sngs pretty easily because they are so straight forward and they take half the time of regular ones
Jam-Fly 8
used to play them on stars. but i find the 9 man ones better. if u just fold for the first round its usually down to 8, survive two more and its your normal 6man game only 3 get money
Foxy Poker 0
I have a very high level of confidence in my game and I do not expect the 80 percent cash rate to decrease considerably, especially at the 20-50 level..... Outlasting 4 people 3 of which are probably bad, for a skilled, intelligent, analytical player like I perceive myself seems about right...Remember I am playing party poker lol..... xxxmen 0
do you find more fish at partypoker than Fcp?? I think because fcp is more diehard players than Party, which can have newbie players more because they advertise more than FCp!?

xxxmen 0
I didn't know they had that. How long does a 5man regular SNG last about???I think I will put my money on those tournaments more than TURBO"s.I've been sucessful, but I think I need to move up in BUY IN's!

Foxy Poker 0
Party poker players are horendous....While I play 1 or 2 of the the 6 man Sng's I watch and "attempt" to learn from the players playing 10-20 NL...but the plays I see from the highest NL game on party are just as bad as my 20-50 sngs..... So yes Party Pokers players are the worse by far....... Not willing to take my shot at the high limit cash games yet...... BANK ROLL MANAGEMENT

Thanks in advance..............JI think if you track your actual stats you will find you are a little off. An %80 ITM rate while multitabling is unheard of, and up 2k-3k , that's a pretty big difference. I think over the long run you'll find on your better months, you're ITM %50-%60. Get a stat tracker and start keeping logs. As far as your question goes, the answer is no. I don't think you can make a STABLE living playing $20-$50 SNG's online.
Foxy Poker 0
I dont usually multi table.......Also, I cash out frequently because my win percentage is so high, so I usually stick to 20-30 SNG's..... I usually keep 200 in account and when I get it to 500 I cash out 300.... I have not gone broke yet, so I must be doing something right...Also can I get my actual win rate without poker tracker? through party? And I think my stats are accurate remember if I come in second in a 20 I only profit... 26 dollars........... 2nd in a 30 is like 48 dollars...... doubleatrain 0
Also can I get my actual win rate without poker tracker? through party? An Excel spreadsheet isn't too tough to set up. I have one that I just keep track of how many times I've placed each position, then a cell that keeps track of total profit, profit per SNG and ITM%. PokerTracker is still a very helpful program and is potentially worth every penny, don't get me wrong, but the data I think you're looking for is certainly doable with Excel or another spreadsheet program.
