troyomac 0
good police workLIVEACTIONONLY, again a really positive post. i completely agree with everything you said... and i do believe im a favourite to win. sometimes i buy in for 100 at a 1 2 aswell. like i just did whilst reading this post and am already up to 300, putting me back over 2k.people play so bad on the net that having a good up rush isnt entirley necessary. they give you their money.Jordan, meh.If you're a good player, why would you only buy in for $100 in a 1/2NL game? The more money you have out there, the more money you can win!
Abbaddabba 0
Couldnt you just summarize the original post with "some guy plays poker - wins some money"?Im kind of confused as to why you thought anyone would care.
suicideking 0
So, are we just going to retype out the entire old thread again?Seriously, GL man. Plenty have taken a shot similar to you I am sure. Myself included, like I said on your last thread. The only difference is that not everyone who is taking that shot is sucessful at it, nor do they post about it. You have to understand that some people are so set in their ways, that if you tell them depositing $100 and sitting in the $100 buy-in NL game is foolish because that is only 1 buy-in. Regardless of if you have $100,000 to deposit if necessary, but only WANT to deposit $100. Of course, some people should not play outside of their bankroll. It will lead to a gambling problem, which may already be there. So if there actually are people out there that feel that they would be influenced by this post to abandon their style of play, and what they feel to be right, then by all means, come find me at the tables. Is anyone seriously this bad? Finally, to the OP, congrats, I've done the same. Just don't get carried away moving up more and more. You do need to have some kind of limit/managment or YOU WILL GO BROKE eventually. Like you said, you may flop top set and be rivered by the guy who called your massive overbet. It happens. GL. TheWatchMan 0
peopel obviously do care, or at least take some interest due to the length of the thread.i see what you mean about tthe repetition, but i wanted to see how to post my hand history, incase anyone wanted to see it.I would care, had i not posted this. and i would want to see someones hand history that had done it. so i can see what they did correct in that particular session. SBriand 4
See this is what i dont understand....you guys are calling the OP an idiot but lets break down what this guy just said.I see nowhere in Jordans post that you quoted where he was calling the OP an idiot. I agree that this site can be hard to get good honest help but don't start grabbing posts and making it more than it really is. Jordan explained from experience why this could be seen as a bad idea. No need to drag him into it as being someone putting down the OP.
KDawgCometh 2
for starters....i love how THEWATCHMAN wastes no time in going for the everpopular "i am not going to post here anymore because everyone is so mean" excuse....i know this has been used over and over but it never gets old....i mean what can you say...its a classicsecondly.... I think its great how the guy posts a little story about the money he has made over the last couple days (however lucky he may be) and then gets told how he is "irresponsible" for "ENCOURAGING" people to play outside of their bankroll. No explanation should be neccesary on the hilarity of this critique of OP.Lastly... I think this forum is getting ridiculous in that ALMOST everyone seems to be negative towards other posters when it comes to strat questions.... why all of the sudden does everyone feel they need to critique every aspect of another poster in such a demeaning fashion.Multiple points need to be made:1. posters need to realize that if they post a hand asking "how did i play this?"...expect there to be some people who disagree...dont post a hand if you think you played it perfectly and are going to get butthurt if someone critiques your play....your the one who posted it for their critiqing.2. People who respond to these posts need to realize that people dont like being called an IDIOT, or being made look like one. I rarely see people posting things like "well you had the right instincts but your math is a little off" or maybe even "take a look at how playing it this way benefits you"....as in a normal debate or conversation about other topics. This could be a forum that helps thousands of people improve their game if EVERYONE would just have a little understanding....instead of jumping on someone just try to see where their coming from and see where they went off course in their thinking....dont criticize....CRITIQUE!you only visit the general forum don't you
SirJobsalot 0
That's odd. I've found this forum nothing but helpful. Some people are harsher in tone than others but the advice is usually sound.Unlike another forum that shall remain nameless, "OMGOMG YOU CALLED WITH JACK HIGHOMGOMG YOU DONK I'M GOING TO COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND KILL YOU FOR DARING TO DO SUCH A THING~~~~~~~~~!!!!11111"
DLizzle 0
I'm all for playing out of bankroll and don't usually like being a ****, but I'd like to clarify something, and maybe I have misunderstood. You started with 400, planning to get to 2000. ok, not even worth mentioning really. I wouldn't be impressed if you had done that. You lost that 400. Then you have $25 left and manage to get it to $2200. Not bad, but you haven't yet reached your goal. 2200-425=1775.Also, I find that people only make these kind of goals when they are trying to get out of a hole or get back on their feet, which makes me think that 400 isn't the only thing you've lost in the past. Just a speculation, but I'd my money on you being a losing online player. Just thought I'd point this out since I think a lot of people run into major problems with this sort of "I turned 25 into 2200" bs.
MasterLJ 0
sigh, im not encouraging to do anything.im just tellling a story.i would like to hear it if it was someone else.i think im going to quit posting here, whats the point if everything i say is just p1ssed on.No... you said "why don't people wish me g/l instead of telling me I'm going to go broke if I play outside my roll." My response pertained to exactly that mentality. It is irresponsible for anyone (Read: NOT YOU) to encourage your fiscal ruin. Although I do believe you are irresponsible for playing outside your roll, it's your money and since I've done the same in the past I'm about the last person to pass judgement. But you wanted a reason why people don't wish you good luck, I gave it to you.
