ForRealDD 0
Just moved to Phoenix from Dallas and have been testing the waters at the lower limits (6/12 & 8/16HE). I've found they are some of the weekest I've ever played , making 15-25 BB's per 4-6 hour session. Any other PHX players around ?
nutzbuster 7
For Real?(lol).Seriously, where you playing at? Gotta be Casino AZ. Folks over there play those limits like it's $2-4 or $3-6. Don't know how you are avoiding getting killed there. $20-40, $75-150 are even worse(or better, depending on your perspective). Good for you man! I am weak at limit but sometimes manage a gain. When I do play limit it's the $6-$12, but I'm usually at $5-$150 or playing the tournaments. Look for the FCP Hat! (if you can't find the hat I'm the guy hiding behind a foot high wall of red chips, he he)

The quality of players in Dallas is very good (for the most part) , Here, I can't keep count of how many times I see somebody calling down 3 bets with middle pair , no kicker , no redraw. Its great...you play often ?

Gotta break the news to the parents now, looks like I'm moving back to the desert. Seems like a good move. I've posted 3 losing sessions, 2 of them my fault, one of them, just a sick night. 5-5 down on a 2-5-J -(J-Q)flop to Q-J , Ah-5h down on a 3h-4h-Xs flop 6 handed , A-A down to A-Q....that kind of night . Good luck if you do come back , we'll have to pool
nutzbuster 7
I have not been playing much in the cash games lately. As you may know they are having the WSOP point tournaments so I've mostly been playing in those. There is another wsop promotion, seperate from the points, that they are running. The next one is May 21st and again June 4th, Sundays both.Don't play much limit but I do know folks that swear by that $8-$16 game. Your description of folks calling down with pretty much anything is accurate, and usually they catch against me because I can't bet enough to get them off their hands. Great when it's going your way and they miss, but hoo man, when it goes the other way....I'll betcha Ivey was up there at some point. Seems like a lot of the pros make their way thru that card room sooner or later.I'll be playing Saturday (and possibly Sunday) in the WSOP tournament.
AceJackOffS 0
I play at CAZ also just about every game there is weak. The 4-8, 8-16, and 40-80 games are by far the loosest games in town. People are crazy. THe 5-150 also had many new young tournament style players. People will not lay down hands, its great.also why was ivey in town?

Those limit games are nutzo, but they bring out the mega donk in me, so I avoid! Fun though. The place has decent bad beat jackpots too.
AZWildcat 0
I'm from Tucson, but I'll be partying up in Phx for Cinco De Mayo... I'll definitely be hitting up Talking Stick on Sunday... The 6/12 game there is very juicy... tons of AZ State frat dude types donking away their trust funds... Haven't played the 5-150 there but hear it's donkish as well (just like the 4-40 games here in Tucson). I'll probably wear my U. of AZ basketball jersey there just to piss off the AZ State turds. If anyone up there sees me, say whats up!

ReraiseAllIn 0
So they offer spread limit of 5-150 instead of NL? Interesting. I have never heard of such a large spread in a spread limit game, its either limit or NL here on the East Coast.
nutzbuster 7
UofA , ASU, ... meh? Went to ASU (deserving of the party school rep. and soooooooo many hotties it should be outlawed). Phil went there so I side with the Sun Devils for now. But since I am originally from Michigan a Wolverines fan I'll always be. Be careful in those games here. There are some real sharks in those waters. So they offer spread limit of 5-150 instead of NL? Interesting. I have never heard of such a large spread in a spread limit game, its either limit or NL here on the East Coast. The Indian gaming compact laws won't allow for full N/L play so this is the closest we can get. However, once you are heads up the skys the limit.
ReraiseAllIn 0
Does anyone remember the "Ultimate Bad Beat"? I want to say it may have even been an ESPN Poker Club article, but I'm not 100% sure. But basically the story was that there was a guy and an old lady playing at this poker table. The local casino had a bad beat jackpot going where if aces full or better lost, then you won 50% of the jackpot, the person with the winning hand got 25% and the rest was split between your tablemates. This guy was a young guy and he was pretty arrogant apparently and the old lady wasn't playing very well but sucking out on him a lot and he was verbally berating her constantly. Well it turns out that he gets AA and raises it preflop, she calls. The flop comes AQQ. He bets, she raises, he reraises, she reraises, he calls. Eventually they get to the river and he realizes that he's beat, but it doesn't really matter since the bad beat jackpot was huge(like he would win 40k) and they were only playing like 3/6 or 4/8. So at the end he checks and says in a fairly nasty manner "Go ahead and show the quads, I'll still make a bundle." or something along those lines. She ends up flashing him the queens and then deposits them in the muck, and since there wasn't a showdown, the bad beat jackpot wasn't awarded. The guy is absolutely stunned and manages to ask her why should would do such a thing, she had cost herself like 20 grand. Her response: "I could tell you really needed the money, but I don't need it." She racks up the rest of her chips and walks away. But anyway, if any of that story sounds familiar, can anyone tell me if it was in fact in an Arizona casino? I believe it was, but I'm not 100% sure.Just found the full article, it was a Bluff article that was put on ESPN. Here's the link to read it for yourselves. Good story, and it confirmed that it was in Arizona. Casino Arizona, in fact.Ultimate Bad Beat Story

I believe it was, but I'm not 100% sure.i remember reading something about this is a magazine a long time ago. Not sure if it was true though.CAZ is running a special bad beat promotion thru the month of May. On Mondays and Thursdays they will pull add-on envelopes for the bad beat jackpot, and they could be worth as much as $75,000 during those periods!Pretty sweet, and they hit them alot in that place. I was playing there during another promotion on Halloween last year and the table behind me hit it for $500,000!!! Can u say pandemonium? It was sick. Losing hand got $250 K. Winning hand got $125 K. The rest of the table shared $15,625.00 each.Happy Halloween!
