Blog Isnt What It Used To Be

Recommended Posts

I know that "Daniel's Blog" is exactly that, his blog. But it seems that it is becoming more and more just a free advertisment for FCP. I know that is his company and he does alot of it in his life, but really I just feel personally that they are becoming worse and worse as far as a blog. And yes, I am fully aware that he can put whatever he wants, but its just my opinion. I know I dont have to read it, but its just a suggestion to DN maybe to ease up on the FCP tourny talk. What do you guys think?

You really should take a closer look at how my blog works. Strangely enough, what's written in the blog has a lot to do with what I actually do in a day. For example: When I play in the big game, the blogs are about the big game. When I play in a tournament, the blogs are about the tournament. When I veg on the couch and watch TV, the blogs are about TV. Further more, when I travel and do media stuff, my blogs are about travelling and media stuff. And finally, when I'm actually filming the show for the most important event I've ever been a part of... well, the blog just might be about that :club: Just cause the blog occasionally has an FCP NEWS tag at the bottom, doesn't mean my blog is a sellout. When you blog, you are supposed to write about what you do no? Well this weekend here, all of my energy was given towards FCP... did you expect that I'd write a blog about Jon Daly's gambling losses instead?

No no, I read about Jon on ESPN.com yesterday. Im not trying to be an *** or anything, it just seems that there is always a buzz for FCP thats all. I realize you talk about what your doing at the time, but Im not just talking about this blog that you just put up. Thanks for replying though.

I gotcha. Here is the deal: the blog will always be the blog, but I would be an absolute idiot if I didn't also let people know about what was happening with FCP. The blog has become pretty popular, and frankly, it's one of the best ways for me to let people know what's happening at FCP. Print ads in magazines cost like $5000 and up an issue! I want people who read my blog to know all about the cool promotions at FCP. I hope you can handle a little bit of FCP pluggin' here and there. Trust me, it isn't going to overwhelm you. It will, only at times like these.

Oh and congrats on all your success with your event. It felt good that 95% of your commentary about how the player's hands should be played I was already thinking. That boosted my confidence on my poker thinking. :club:

I would say you are wrong, yes. With his blog on cardplayer.com alot of people see it that dont come here. Then you have users like me who dont play online poker, only live. But still like to post and read the blog.

i guess your right about the cardplayer and all his articles. but before you got here there was no poker playing on FCP just the forum. i was pretty much refering to the FCP posters not players

I am so clueless at times that if you didn't write what was going on with FCP in the blogs I would miss out on a lot of fun. :club:

I hate when Daniel plugs his card protector! Everyone has one, why does he feel the need to promote it?47_1_b.JPG
These were sold out so I just use the bobble head instead.

If I were Daniel (I could only wish...) I would absolutely use the blog to plug some of the stuff that I was doing or a part of. After all:
  1. He started the blog and pays for it, so why not use it and save ad money
  2. He takes the time out of his life to write the blog
  3. It's his life to write about and choose the topics from
  4. We read the blog because he writes about stuff we are interested in most of the time
  5. In many cases it's because of his blog that I have heard about something that I want to participate in or watch on TV
  6. Oh, did I mention...it's HIS blog!

I just don't understand why anyone would ***** about what a person writes in a personal blog...and follow me here...when you are the one choosing to read it!!!I love reading it and HATE IT when I boot up in the morning and open up the blog to see that nothing new has been posted. :club: I find it an engaging look at the life of a pro poker player and a guy that shares many of my same interests (Survivor, Amazing Race, Poker, Games, etc). I would hate to see Daniel stop writing it or posting because people complain about FCP chat in it. That is a big part of his life and he should include it in HIS blog. There are many other poker player blogs out there if you don't like this one...in fact I think Phil Hellmuth has one. But don't think for a minute that he won't bore you to tears with how darn great he is, but he does like to *****, so maybe you would be in better company there. But this is just one DN blog fan's opinion!
