Yea I flip flopped it, I own the originals imported from Japan and the American versions. Collecting dust in my storage unit right now.
I'm anal about that, lol. I hate seeing the wrong numbers used, ie:Some guy: "I like FFIII on the SNES."Me: Oh, you mean FFVI?As far as the imports: must be nice. The only imported Final Fantasy I have is the 3rd/4th (not sure) re-release of FFIV for the DS. I've been playing the hell out of that for about a month and a half.

I hated FF9. It seemed like Squaresoft took a few major leaps back when they put that game out. FF7 was a masterpiece...FF8 was a masterpiece...FF9 was a huge letdown.
I loved 7, despised 8, and 9 is my top favorite.8 had way too much micromanagement for my taste. I just want to play the game and explore the world, not sit in the menu screen and move items around to get the best character. I liked 7 and 9 and even 10 better in that area personally.

I pretty much play Guitar Hero 3 on Hard/Expert, or Madden. Speaking of Madden, what's more frustrating then being able to pwn the AI on All Pro/Madden level, but when you go online you get pwned by that dude whos 10-69?
And they use Denver?!?

No, obv. I didn't need to (though that's not entirely true.)In the case of FFIV, it wasn't much different for me. I've played through the SNES, PSX, and GBA versions - I know all the menus, I've been looking at the MP costs for years (these were changed slightly, but the learning order for Rydia and Rosa's spells wasn't.) I did have to develop new tactics instead of Fight, Fight, Fight, Summon Bahamut/Leviathan, and have Rosa heal. For some of the items, there were visual clues in the descriptions (Recovery items: the letters H, M, and P stick out like a sore thumb, and the numbers: for potions, 100 HP (regular), 500 HP (Hi-Potion), 1000 HP (X-Potion) and for MP, 50 (Ether) and 100 (Dry Ether)The menus were slightly confusing, but this helped when I was stuck and the trial-and-error approach wasn't working: FFIV Translation Wiki pwns j00 - For the most part, I used it for spells and items. The game delivered a lot of ass kickings for that first week though. :)I was also interested in playing the Japanese version of FFVI Adv., but I couldn't figure out the Emulator I downloaded and just waited for it to come to the States.FFIII: My team wasn't 99 until I was headed to the Crystal Palace, lol. Xande's quite a wimp when you're dual-wielding 2 Onion Swords on every character.
