Protege Live Webcast: Starting Time Changed

Recommended Posts

What they are doing is not easy, you need to understand this.I'm sure there on a limited budget, and broadcasting a live 'Webcast' isn't easy especially when its a live tournament like this. This isn't Fox Sports here....give em a break!
It's not rocket science, the problem is they didn't TEST anything before today...that's their own fault has nothing to do with their budget...

The problems I've witnessed so far aren't budget related. I'f it was poor picture quality or if the set looked bad or if there was a problem with the webstream I would totally agree. But clearly the problem is organizational in nature. they just don't have their **** together and are adjusting as they go along. Every highschool play has a dress rehersal. A lot of this stuff should have been figured out before the tourny started not during. Mostly I feel for the players as this has got to be a difficult situation in which to stay focused and keep your head in the game.

With a live webcast, it certainly poses problems when there's technical issues -- if they could just shut cameras off for a few minutes they could probably resolve things a little easier. But you'd think the 4 hours they spent futzing around prior to showing video, they would have had players trained with the hole card cams and had any technical kinks worked out.

I am on the side of full contact, that this is not easy... but this is also true... testing is free. And this should've already been done.

I blame Canada.
Canada sucks.
Some of my best friends are Canadian.

They aren't doing it for us, they are doing it to generate traffic to their site and revenue, do you not see all the FCP banners EVERYWHERE?? What are you thinking are you stuck in a bubble somewhere? And these aren't technical difficulties beyond their control, a simple test before hand would have solved the problems...

Things like this happen. I know that we would love to watch this match happen ASAP, but in all honesty, the Protege finalists are probably cool with it, and FCP is trying to put together a good production for when this eventually airs - which is when the real benefit is seen. This webcast is more for the community as opposed to the public at large I would think.

Ever hear of "organizational difficulties that should be within our control?"It's cool it's being done live and all, but that's a business decision from FCP. All good, nothing wrong with business but get it together!
