We'd all act of turn, overbet the pot at all oppurtunities etcthe funniest play ever was when i had like 8-10 or something. on the turn i have no pair. i bet real big, i get a call. river is a blank, i bet really big, the guy calls, i meekly turn over 8-10, the other guy goes ''**** it, I thought you bluffing, 7-high!''I also thought i could beat anyone coz i saw the pros on tv, lol

I used to think that poker was all luck and that people who said that skill was involved were delerious. I remember playing my first few hands (horrible ones at that) and cracking monsters with them, and that only validating my absurd assumption.

i think of my development in three stages:1) i was an idiot, and played super LAG in all situations.2) i read a couple books, and started to play tight and eventually became a TAG robot.3) i started playing pretty LAG again.this can be summed up through my relationship to QTs, which was my "favorite hand" when i started playing.1) QT is always good for a raise2) fold that *******, unless you're in the blinds.3) raise it up. you'll outplay them enough to make it profitable.

I thought any hand with an ace is good in any position. I also remember when I thought 9876 was a premium hand in o8. Ah, the good old days.

It seems that this is the case for most players. You start LAG, then TAG and realize everyone is so tight, playing by the books. Then back to LAG/TAG when the time is right.Nice reply. I can see this as my development as well. B)

Well, I'm still a relative beginner, but I started as Tight-Passive (after all, someone always outdrew me on the river, so why put money in after the flop?). That wasn't working, so I switched to Loose-Passive, because I was losing to people with bad starting hands who outdrew me, so maybe if I start with crappy hands, I'll do better. Hundreds of dollars later, I said screw this, and, as a last ditch effort, switched to TAG. Now I'm finding at the lower levels, frequently sLAG can be profitable in many (most?) rooms. I'm still working my way up to picking LAG spots correctly. If the trend continues, in six months the dollar rooms online will be embarrassingly easy.

I would go on tilt after missing a few consecutive flops with Ace high. Most of those times I would lose my initial bet of fifty cents... sometimes even a dollar. Tough times, tough times.

Hey Actuary, I've been poking in here now and then. My posting has dropped off because my two activites-while-posting have gone away. First I left my job (slacking off should have gotten me fired but my term ended first... and nobody cared anyway). A few weeks after that I stopped playing online (I tilt over nothing while multi-tabling) and now I'm exclusively at the casino. I've been keeping up the nice little part-time gambling addict job to keep me afloat while taking classes. How've you been doing?

Draw her some schematics. This will leave no doubt: it is a project.
