On the way there, I drank a 26er of vodka and Tahiti Treat, I was done. Thank god my buddy woke me up for Pantera though. I vaguely remember people getting KO'd in the mash pit and getting carried out on stretchers...INSANE. Good times and I didn't mean to take ur response in an offensive way......Still Fkin HostileGarnes

theresa113 0
I haven't been to many concerts, which is weird because I love music. When I was 12 my parents took my sister and I to see Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons. Tina Turner had just split from Ike and she was the opening act. Let me tell you, she blew everyone away. She was all over the stage, had several costume changes and she she was just awesome. I saw Stevie Nicks in 1986. This was back when she was coked up all of the time and flaking out on a lot of her shows. I lucked out. She was great that night. Like Tina, she was all over the stage, several costume changes and she sang her heart out. We were up really close. It was a blast. In 1987 I saw Billy Idol. Have you seen the Mony Mony video? That was th concert. It was at the Lakeland Civic center in Florida. The Cult opened up (before they really had any hits and their sound system wasn't great.) We managed to get right up to the stage. I was right in front of Steve Stevens. OMG, he looked SO HOT in the white leather pants. Billy Idol was kind of pompous but he gave a great show. Steve Stevens was so gracious to all of us, especailly during the taing of Mony Mony. (The song was played mid way through the concert and then at the end, they played it another 20 times.) This was a great concert, full of energy and fun. I had bruises on my rib cage for a week but it was worth it. Also, in 87 I saw The Pretenders. Iggy Pop was the opening act. It was a great show. Chrisie Hynde was great with the audience. The sad thing was that it was a big arena but not that many people. However, it was intimate and you could tell the band wanted to make the most of the experience. In 1992, I saw Lush. I am not sure if the concert was great or what, but it was at a small venue and I was drinking Lynchburg Lemonades. I know I enjoyed the concert but I haven't listed to the band in over 10 years. In 1993, I saw U2. What can you say about U2? I mean, they are big, big sound, big show, big areana, big everything. I loved it. The concert was awesome. I had mediocre seats but even with those seats I still felt part of the concert. We use to have this thing called Light up Orlando where known bands past their prime would come and perform on this night. I say Eddie Money and let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. He put on a great show, full of energy and his voice was great. I also saw Matchbox 20 before they had any hits. They are from Orlando. Anyway, all I can remember was that it was a free outside venue with 5 bands. A local radio station put on the show and my son use to do some voice work with the morning guys (my kid was 8 at the time.) Anyway, I remember being about 3-4 yeards away from Rob Thomas and looking at him thinking what an idiot. It was the middle of the summer and Rob Thomas had on a long sleved velvet chatreuse shirt. I mean, he is from Florida... is he nuts? Anyway, Billy Mann also played at this gig and he was great. You could tell he was just happy to be at an event this big. A couple of years ago they were doing this downtown concert series with has been bands playing for free (kind of like light up Orlando but instead of several bands and all of downtown, it was one band every Saturday night for a couple of months.) Anyway, I saw Blue Oyster Cult and let me tell you, these old guys were great. Their voices and their instruments were still sharp. Only thing lacking was stage presence but it didn't really matter. Ok... my worse concerts were Pink Floyd and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Pink Floyd was my fault. I was quite wasted and the areana was SO HUGE, over 60k people! We couldn't find out seats, you couldn't move and we wound up in the nose bleed section out of frustration. Tom Petty was bad for 2 reasons. First reason was because the night before we saw Billy Idol. My ribs were hurting, my ears were ringing and I was dead tired. The other reason was because our seats were behind a pole and all I could see was Tom Petty's nose stick out from time to time. This was at the Tampa Sundome and if you stood up or walked to the stairs to watch, you would get yelled at by security I have seen a few other shows but not that many more. I always have intentions on seeing something but I rarely make it. Oh yeah, I forgot, I did see Heart a few weeks ago at Universal Studios. Ann's voice is truely amazing and Nancy is such a kick azz guitar player. It was a good show even though I could not see the stage well and I had to leave before it was over. David_Nicoson 1
There are two shows that really stand out. Pink Floyd, Division Bell tourThey really understand how to put on a stadium show. Everything is sized appropriately. Lasers. Giant floating pigs. What else do you need? Just an amazing spectacle with great music. Lollapalooza '96Metallica, SoundgardenIt was so hot in the day. 100+ degrees. They set up mist fans to keep us from dying. I'm sure some of you would enjoy some of the other bands (e.g., Primus and the Ramones), but I just endured them and the heat. Then it rained. The rain soaked all my clothes. The lawn turned to mud. People went sliding down the hill. Then the sun went down. And it got friggin' cold. People built fires from trash and huddled around them. And I was thinking, I braved the elements to watch a guy with a chicken bucket on his head play guitar? Then Soundgarden played. And it was well worth it.Then Metallica played, and it was fantastic. Honorable mention: Cinderalla '91 INXS ~'90. Loved the sax solo. Ozzfest '99 (Black Sabbath is +EV. Flying cups with soda-filled condoms bonking my pregnant wife in the head is -EV. Ozzy getting old is -EV. Still rocked.) AC/DC concerts, which all run together. Page/Plant Walking into Clarksdale tour Other Metallica shows. Eric Clapton From the Cradle tour It kills me that I haven't seen U2 in conert, but $80 tickets are just absurd. Are they trying to corner the market on money?

ROGUE06 0
Metallica and Guns & Roses(Together, same concert) in Minneapolis early 90's.Definetly the best tour ever! GN'R and Metallica toured in 92 for a special stadium tour that summer. I seriously would give anything to be born early enough to see Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and GN'R in their prime.I saw Weezer/Foo Fighters last October, which rocked btw. nutzbuster 7
Been to hundreds but a few stand out.My first U2, pre- Joshua Tree. seen 2 times since. My first Springsteen, pre Born in the USA. Seen 3 times since. Steely Dan. Wasn't expecting much but was blown away. The little known Gipsy Kings (still don't underestand a word, but always amazing)and the biggies...The Who, 2 times. Last time was in Toronto aroound 79. Probably the best because the sound was C D perfect and they played for 3 hours.Led Zeppelin. First time I was only 15 at the old Red Wings Olympia Arena and then again in 1978, (John Bonham was still alive). Priceless.
