MisterB 2
Ok so I get the itch last night to run up to Foxwoods (1 hour drive) to play in their 7pm $100 NL tourney... start with 2k in chips, terrible blind structure..100 ppl in..blah blah blah.. I have been known to go overboard when I go up there and I really only want to play in the tournament so I bring $160 with me and try to limit the losses if I get knocked out... So Im in the 7 seat and the button starts in the 2 seat... 1st hand no action...2nd hand a guy loses 1350...3rd hand im now UTG with AA...I raise to 75 (25/25bb) the guy next to me reraises to 375...all fold to BB who goes all in for 650..I call...the guy next to me pushes (has me covered) JACKPOT!!!! my AA vs AK (2 seat) vs AJ (BB)...flops 8 8 K....9....K....And Im out... so im a little upset I just paid $100 to play one hand but thats poker and you have to fade the beats... So I go upstairs and find an empty roulette table and sit down with 40 of the 60 I have left... 10 a spin miss 1st 3 spins...4th spin hit for 70...2nd spin 70 more...and on and on hitting about 2 of every 3....pressing the whole way.. till I run it back up to about $500 just getting ridiculously lucky balls kicking in my numbers im on fire...the dealer leaves...so I leave... wait....one more spin...pretty sure that cost me $25...so Ive only been there about 45 minutes now so Im like...well im up $ and I want to play some cards...to the poker room...You know when you see someone from HS or whenever and you really dont ever want to talk to them, so you see them and you dont think they see you...and you try to dodge them... so I want to play some 2-4NL but theres a little wait and as Im standing by the board I see someone from HS I dont want to talk to... so I look and 5-10 limit is open seating and I dodge the uncomfortable encoutner and sit down...bunch of old guys...not a lot of $ on the table...but enough... So I sit down and start playing..no cards...then finally I PU A J and end up taking down a kill pot...and cruised from there...I bought in for 3 and im up to 5 before I know it... like maybe 30 minutes... So im like ill get to the blinds then bounce...well i finally get UTG and what do we PU...AA...in a kill pot... RAISE...4 callers... sick action... Flops K q 3 I bet 2 callers... turns a 10... check call... rivers a blank... check call Q 10 takes it down...NH... so im down 70 after that hand still up 130 from the time i sat down... so I decide to stick around and see what happens and I scoop another pot with A K...back over 200...want to play to the blinds again...and what do I get UTG...KK...here we go...Raise...6 callers... flops 10 6 3..I bet get raised...I reraise... calls...turns a 9...I bet he raises...now im cautious...so i call...rivers an Ace that makes the flush...I check he checks flips 99..turned his set...NH...so I play a couple more hands and walk with a $180 profit playing for a little less than an hour... So in the 90 minutes since i got knocked out in the third hand i ended up combining roulette and poker to turn $40 into $659...( miscalculated the last spin I saw on the way out)... so it goes to show you...dont ever give up... if youre at a casino...and youve got $ in your pocket...anything is possible... I got knocked out in the 3rd hand...and made more money than I wouldve if I had finished 3rd in the tournament... Hope you enjoyed....

Loismustdie 0
You have got a gambling problem. This could have, and should have been, I lost 160 bucks at the casino and now I want to vomit thread.
MisterB 2
You have got a gambling problem. This could have, and should have been, I lost 160 bucks at the casino and now I want to vomit thread.Oh yeah youre right... I lost all my money...oh wait thats right I didnt.. I have a problem because I play poker and then roulette with some extra cash... WTF? Like seriously...where is this coming from? If I had said I went up and went through a 28 hour session lost all my money and passed out from sheer exhaustion then that would be understandable, but I played poker and roulette for less that 2 hours with a small ammount of money... great response kid... Don't ever give up at a casino? More times than not, you will leave with nothing if you employ this strategy
MisterB 2
The casinos love to hear this type of talk. Don't ever give up at a casino? More times than not, you will leave with nothing if you employ this strategyof course but thats why you limit yourself to what you can afford to lose... which is what i did... It was more of a story guys... not a plan... and you should never give up if you have $ to lose...
Steeeve28 0
Wow, some of you are just idiots, either that or you're being assholes for no reason. The OP specifically stated that he only brought $160 to MINIMIZE HIS LOSSES. How does he have a gambling problem if he brought he could afford to lose? Some of you are so pathetic with the attempted flamings on here, it's ridiculous. To the OP, nice story. I'm not a roulette player myself. If I play any pit game it's blackjack. But with the rush you went on at the roulette table, it sounds mighty good.

Killrus 0
Just curious about your roulette strat.I usually like to stick with the the 2:1 payout (rows). Are you picking blocks of numbers? Cause that seems highly risky on a single bet. Maybe you were just lucky? Good kill though.

nritchi3 0
Congrats on the positive run of variance at the roulette wheel. The casino will be happy to take your money on your next visit.
MikeR 0
Congrats on the positive run of variance at the roulette wheel. The casino will be happy to take your money on your next visit. All $60 of it? Oh no! That's like a steak dinner, the guy had some pocket change to play around with, no big deal. Not like he put his whole roll on the line or anything.
brabz 0
Sounds like a fun time. I haven't been to Foxwoods yet, but I hear nothing but good things...as long as you avoid FoxwoodsPro's offers to drive you home. What's the point of flaming him for not making the +EV play and having some fun with roulette? People get lucky at casinos... it's part of what makes them enjoyable and why people keep going back. He brought a small amount of money he could afford to lose, took a bad beat in poker, then went to steam off money he coud afford to lose in roulette, and then proceeded to get lucky. Sounds like a fun night to me, well done.
XA_kid 0
One time I ended up playing $5 Craps while I was waiting for a poker seat, won $500 in 45 minutes. Moral of the story? I had fun while waiting for a seat. If I had lost $100, bucks I would still not regret because I have no expectations of winning. Winning at a casino game is like the frosting on the cake.OP nice story. Doesn't sound like you have a gambling problem at all and I can relate to the avoiding people you know part. MisterB 2
well my roulette STRAT is to start playing 5 numbers in a row $2 a number... 4 is my center # with 16 23 33 35 being the outside... then ill press my bets to 3-5 $ and pickup 14 and 21 the other 2 numbers on my row...so i know i have an entire row to play off of... now when im getting a feel for the table and hitting some #s ill start playing the dealer as well...if you play roulette you know what I mean...some dealers are wild..others consistent..and still others have a tendency to move it back and forth with a pretty solid regularity... so there you go... No i dont have a problem gambling.. I used to thats why i went with 160... ahahah they probably will take it next time..but thats why its called gambling...it was more of going for a good time that was a roller coaster ride... Yes they do serve free booze @ the Woods... It was more of a story than anything...a "everything happens for a reason story..." Now if i win 250,000 in a tournament...then the next day im trying to play the "Big Game" you can say Im an idiot and I have a problem... but as it stands I think it was a good time and Im glad it worked out... Thanks kid... and it was a hell of a good time... and i got a little defensive...youre right..what the hell is there to flame? On a gay scale, if i said I like you too, I think would be above a 7 which is in the "Only Ron Mexico can say it and get away with it" range... So ill stick to the "you make great posts"...which is in between 5-7 the "Metrosexual" range... and I can handle that...
