Ah Qc Utg+1 After First Break

Recommended Posts

$5 entry fee, 947 entries, small overlay on UB despite letting people register late for 12 minutes? I know, amazing.Blinds are 50/100 and going up to 75/150 soon.Hero has 1800 chips.SB has 4050 chips.BB has 1020 chips.(Those are their stacks before posting blinds)Hero has Ah Qc.UTG folds, Hero raises to 275, folds to SB who calls, BB also calls (leaves him with 745)Flop: 7h 4s 2h (825 in pot)SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets 400, SB calls, BB folds.Turn: 5h (1625 in pot)SB moves all-in. Since he has more chips than me, he's putting me all-in, and I have 1125 chips. What should I do?Here's some background...I had been at this table for about 30 minutes, and it seemed to me that Villain was getting a bit out of line. I didn't really see any showdowns from him, but it almost seemed like he was building pots and then pushing people all-in so they had a decision for all their chips. I have the ace of hearts, and I don't think he'd play the made flush like this, so it looks like a bluff a good portion of the time. I know pure odds wise if I'm going to have to hit the flush I am getting improper odds to do so.The pot has 2750 chips in it and it costs me 1125 to call, so i'm getting about 2.5:1.How often does my hand have to be good to make this call? Would you guys consider this call? The blinds have a decent chance of going up on me, which once they go up will put my M at under 5, so I'm not feeling like I have much chance if I fold here.I did make the call, I'm just not sure if it was the right decision or not, what do you guys think?

I consider it.I probably make it too.First of all, it's a $5 tourney, so the donkness factor is enourmous.Second of all, the flop is so low, that it probably missed him as well. I think that maybe the chance that we hit our flush, combined with the chance that we have the best hand is enough to make this a call.Furthermore, we aren't going to have much left to play with if we fold here. I think we need to gamble to win this pot and start to build a stack. As an aside, I'm probably betting 500-600 at that flop.- Zach

Your M is getting dangerously low, you have outs (flush draw plus the A/Q might be good since villian has been aggressive). If you fold, you're down to 1,125 chips with blinds rising to 75/150.I'm taking my shot here; call.

A 3 might be an out as well. The betting pattern really looks like a bluff. You raised preflop and he called out of position. There is no cards out there that look like the helped him. He reads your flop bet as a standard continuation bet (knowing the flop probably missed you). He then is attempting a steal here. He may have a small pair and hit a set, I discount the flush becuase it just dosen't happen often that 2 people are on flush draws. Regardless of what he has, you have outs. ou also may have the best hand. And folding will crush you, forcing ou to struggle along hoping for a miracle. I say call.
