I'm taking a trip to Tunica, MS at the end of the week, and was wondering if anyone is familiar with the poker over there. I'll be staying at the Goldstrike under a sweet deal with a poker room rate. I'm interested mainly in NL cash games and tourneys (probably around $100 buyin). I'm going to be playing mostly 4/8 at the Goldstrike to clear my hours for the poker room rate, but was wondering how things are away from the Goldstrike. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks...Brandon

Well the NL cash games have been pretty good for a while down there. There are tourneys at The Shoe on Monday and Thursday night. 65 entry for 800 in chips. Unlimited rebuys for an hour and a halk. Then you can do a single add on (40 for 800 more) or a double add on (80 for 1600). They also have one on Sat and Sunday. I think it's about 130 entry with one add on for 100. 1-800-363-7463The Grand changes their tourneys about every month. They usually have one going every day. 1-800-346-4346.The Gold Strike has em pretty often as well. 1-662-357-1111If you have any specific questions let me know. This was a small little report from Tunica a month ago :I'm not able to go down to the casinos much anymore. I have a newborn and a new high house note Anyway I normally play 4-8 limit since the NL tables are usually pretty wild and I don't really have the funds for it. Although I think I play NL much better than limit. But I had no desire for the no foldem holdem. So I jumped in the NL game.I bought in the 2-5NL for 200 willing to shoot 2 barrels at it.Every friggin hand someone would raise it to at least 15$. I finally got sick of it in the BB and called the 15 with QJoff, 5 others called. The flop was QdJd4x. I bet 30 not really knowing what I wanted. I didn't think anyone had a set unless it was a set of 4's. 2 people folded and the others called. The turn was a magical Q. I checked the next guy bet 100, a fold, a call and I pushed for my last 145. Both called one with AKd and the other had 8 10d. As soon as the cards were turned over one guy said he folded the 9d. Obviosly the river was no help for them.About 3 hands later I was moved to the main table. The first hand I played was A-10 os with 3 others on a flop of A-10-7 all diamonds. I didn't put anyone on a flush but I just knew someone had the Kd. I'm not really sure why but I went with it. I bet 50$ into a 50 dollar pot. Two folded and the last guy called. The turn was a blank and I bet 100. He hesitated, talked about how he knows he shouldn't call as he pushed the stack of red in. Well I knew exactly what he was hoping the river to be....Well he got it a 2d. He basically jumped out of his seat then pushed for about 300. I instafolded and he showed me the Kd.I felt I played pretty damn good all night long. There were about 4 hands that stuck out that I'd love to go into detail about but I'm at work and pressed for time.1) I get a guy pot committed pf holding QQ. He flopped a set of 7's.2) Same thing with me having KK and the other guy flopping a set of 9's.3) One guy raises to 35 pf and getting a caller. The flop was 3-4-Q. One guy bets 40 and the other guy calls. The turn was another Q and they both check. The river was a 10 and they both check. One guy had 2-5os and the other guy had 5-6d. So 6 high won it 4) This hand keeps me awake at night and I wasn't even in it. UTG raises to 15 UTG+1( a very solid and tight lady) calls, 2 other callers to the BB. He raises it 25 more (begging for everyone else to call??) UTG, UTG+1, and 1 other person calls. The flop was K-4-6. UTG bets 50 and the tight solid lady mini raises to 100. The BB PUSHES for 500 more! I was about to crap. I mean I didn't think the guy had AK because he's played with that lady and knows she's tight. I thought he had to have KK. Anyway she called his all-in with 66. He turned over KQ!!! I was blown away that he thought he either had the best hand or could push her out. She turned a 6 for quads and he went home.Forgive my grammatical errors and everything else. I'm at work and going back and forth so I may have left some stuff out.BTW - I really thought I played good until I got too tired. My problem is I don't get to play very much so I tend to stay longer than I should. I ended up losing 14$. I donked off about 300 in the last 2 hours.

I would but all I would hear is about how bad my grammer and stuff iz. :)But if I was to write a blog I would brag about winning 4 SNG's in a row this weekend (5$ ones).I got 41st in a tourney that paid 40. Then I got 30th in a 5$ entry with about 800 and I got 17 bucks. I still managed to lose 200$. All on SNG's and MTT's. It was all a daze... Basically I'm a donk who gets lucky sometimes. :club:

when I was there for the events in january, i played exclusively at the gold strike 1-2 tables, in three sessions, 18 hours of play i was up $1200 plus a bad beat jackpot share of 250 (which i parlayed into 700 at the craps table).anyway, I really liked the play, but it may have been because of the mass influx of fish for the events....

at the gold strike they did...it was pretty high though...quad 10's had to get beat, both cards in both hands have to play of course, the one i got paid off on was a strt flush/strt flush setup...50k guaranteed jackpot...paid to 5-6 tables i think
