Wandigo 1
So I've only been to Vegas once, and I didn't have much time to play poker when I was there. But I'm going back Memorial day weekend for my step-brothers wedding (he lives out there) and was wondering who hosts daily small buy-in tournaments (~$60) that I could play in. I already plan on playing some 1/2 NL (not sure where at yet though, where's the softest games?) but also would like to play in a tournament or two.If anyone will be there that weekend (May 26th), I'd love to meet up with some people and hang out, I'll probably be staying at the Monte Carlo. With 1500 Chips to start they go with 25-50 blinds, then double them every time. Within what seems like minutes it's 200-400 blinds and average stack has barely reached 3000. It's a total coin flip. Waste of money and not really poker!

It is a $60 tourny plus $10 bonus buy and 1 $40 rebuy. There were about 80 people.

meat 0
Binions... 4 a day, 10am, 2pm, 8pm, 2am... all about same price and with the 'rebuy' plan on spending about $110. Weekends have bigger buy-ins and plan on about 200 for Sat Sun eve. All events are NLHE.The Orleans.... 2 a day... noon and 7pm. Buy-ins from 45 with unlimited rebuys to 230 (with rebuy) for the Sat eve NLHE. They run NLHE, Limit HE, and Limit OH/L8B... if you like a little variety.Hope it helps... for some low bux tourneys anyway.
Wandigo 1
Thanks for all the info guys! Is there any of the $40-$60 range that are freezeouts? I've never been a fan of re-buy tournaments and have always done well in freezeouts as opposed to the rebuys. Plus I'm not that loaded so I can't do the $100+ tourneys. ricker 0
as someone previously stated, STAY AWAY from the Luxor Tourneys. It's the WORST structure I've ever seen in a tournament. 300 starting in chips, limit for the first hour, then it turns to no limit...it's the most rediculous things I've ever seen. You'd have a better edge if you played the 1 shoe blackjack tables they have there.
hermanjenks 0
http://www.lasvegasvegas.com/poker/tournaments.phpI was in Vegas a few weeks ago and played in the Binions tourney twice. It was 70 to buy in and there were normally around 40-50 players and this was the 2am tourney. I am not sure about the ones earlier in the day, but the players in the ones I played in were not that impressive. The cash games in Old Vegas were amazingly soft, which kind of suprised me. Play in the 1/2 at the Plaza and pay for the rest of your trip with your winnings.War John Stockton
meat 0
All of the binions rebuys are single rebuys... easy to budget. The Orleans runs about half of theirs as unlimited rebuys for 1 hour... but those are all 40 buy-in 20 rebuy... they have one that is 50, 1-20 rebuy and a 20 add-on... And, on Thurs. noon, 75 NLHE freezout... new one they just added.Last Binions I played had 85 for the 2pm... decent payout over 2200 for first.
compuease 0
I like the Sahara daily tournaments, 11AM, 7PM, & 11PM. The 7 PM is the biggest ranging from 100-150 players depending on which night. All are $42. plus single $20. rebuy/addon which can be taken at any time even before you start which I do. Just treat it as a freezeout for $62. and voila, low buyin, well run, decent structure. Room is no great shakes but it isn't the Bellagio or Wynn after all.

The amount of donks was evened out by solid players. I fun tourney to play and definitely worth the money.
