You guys are leaving out Fergueson and Josh Arieh, the final 2 in omaha H/L and also pretty good limit holdem players. I really think the final table will be full of pros, just look at the final table of any non holdem event. Last years omaha table had those 2 plus Robert Wiliams, Phil Ivey and Phil Helmuth if I recall.

personally i believe that ivey has the best shot at winning it.seidel is a good choice as are doyle, dn, chan, and juanda, but ivey is the man, has a mixed game bracelet, and plays mixed games dayly.he is my pick.
I think a couple of the guys who play in the big mixed game could be good bets as dark horses like Eli Elezra and David Benyamine. I don't really wanna call them dark horses I guess as they are very good mixed game players so I'll call them guys that might get overlooked.
Those are all good choices especially the people that play in the big mixed game which makes me wonder why noone mentions Chau Giang or Ted Forrest.

So anyways is there any difference between HOSE and SHOE?
HORSE is: Hold 'Em Omaha 8 or better Razz StudStud Eight or betterSHOE is: Stud Hold 'Em Omaha 8 or betterStud Eight or betterBasically the same games in a different order (minus Razz of course).

DN, Juanda, Ferguson, Seidel, Ivey and Forrest are the safest bets to take this one down, imho. They have all shown consistent strength in a variety of games over a stretch of at least several years.Monty
Ferguson and Forrest are my two top picks. Said so a few days ago in the first WSOP HORSE thread.Monty

Yeah, Siedel is a beast, but I think it would be freaking awesome if some donk online qualifier won. Shove it right in the pros' collective face.
Has he got a seat there yet? I would love to see that guy take it down, imagine it he's what? 23 I think? Would be great to see a TV favourite, 'young gun' taking down the most skilfull poker tournament in history would be stunning! Lol! GL Hoosier, TP/MM

You totally quoted the wrong post, and no Hoosier doesn't have a seat but I think he's planning to play some of the smaller events there. Assuming he scores big in one of them, maybe he'd enter? =]

I highly doubt it. He's not stupid enough to drop 50 grand on the most -EV tournament ever.

That would be amusing. As would that old guy winning the protege tornny. Funny on so many levels. Good luck to him and the online HORSE contestant.

there has been a lot of discussion on here about this but no one has mention my pick. i am taking eric seidel for this.i have no idea why no one has mentioned him. yeah ivey, brunson, dn are worth mentioning, as are some of the other big game players. but come on i got to take seidel. he has 7 wsop bracelets in the following events.2005 No Limit Hold'em 2003 Pot Limit Omaha 2001 No Limit Hold'em 1998 Deuce to Seven Draw 1994 Limit Hold'em 1993 Omaha8 1992 Limit Hold'em and has had many more final tables. yeah i know he went on a bit of a downswing in the wsop for a while but hey i think he has gotten back on his game as far as the wsop is concerned (4 final tables in 2005), so he is my pick to take down the horse event.
Razz, Stud, and Stud H/L... if you aren't excellent at those games it will be very difficult to win.

I certainly don't expect you to answer this, but if players are talking about early side action on who will go the farthest, who is favored?Monty

I'm going to win this event :-) I think that I have an excellent shot to win this thing, but will also add that I'd be willing to bet that the eventual winner plays at least $2000-$4000 mixed games at Bellagio. It won't be a "tournament player," it'll be a guy who wins in the big game:MyselfPhil IveyDoyle BrunsonChip ReeseTed ForrestJohn HenniganJennifer Harman
