redandblack 0
tonight...my laptop was running like complete **** for no reason. so i punched it and broke the screen(-1200 tilt factor.....3/10). Then i decided it would be a good to try and make up some of the cost. played my first 109 sng on party. 2nd in chips with 5 left...my KK runs into chip leaders AA. Next 109 SNG i play like a complete donk(-1400 5/10 tilt). Now the most logical thing to do is put half my bankroll at the 5/10 no limit tables. After some intial success I ofcourse donk all my money off on a KQ off(-2200 8/10 tilt factor). What do I do now? I know what your saying "Well you gotta put the rest of your bankroll in the game" Well my friend that exactly what I did. In which I slowplayed my AA got caught upto and donked off the rest of my stack(-3100). I think im now going to call over my psychaotic obsessive exgirldfriend(Tilt factor 10/10). I have no damn discipline. atleast the laptop was paid for with winnings and my BR was off of 100 I depoisited 3 weeks ago. whatever...I gotta go find that bitchs number..... 21gambit 0
Pretty obvious response here...Ive been there.Learn your lesson and start over. Never play higher you can afford, at least not without limitations. Taking shots with a portion(definitely not half) of your bankroll at higher limits isnt horrible, just play with the knowledge that if you lose it, its gone and youre going to grind it back at the lower limits. The main problem for some players when they take shots is that if they lose they cant imagine having to re-grind such a large number at their normal limits just to make it back, so they continue to shell out more and more to get it back.(mmm, run on sentences) The problem with this is that when they force themselves to do this, the reason that they are losing is probably that theyre outclassed, not to mention that they cant handle the variance with their bankroll even if theyre not. Also, its definitely not something to do on a regular basis, only when you are going well and want to try your hand at a bigger game, and by doing well, I dont mean for the day. Jumping up just to make up a loss is a recipe for disaster. Beating the **** out of your laptop just goes to show that you dont have the disicpline to play the tilt free leather asses at those limits. Learn to control your emtiotions. Dont focus on the results, just on playing well. Heres a little trick thats helped me become less results oriented. Put tape over the amount of money you have at the table(btw this only works for limit). This should prevent you from noticing whether your winning or losing while playing if that affects you emotionally.Just my opinion. GL

thrillsoft 0
It's so funny because I've been so close to punching my laptop soooo.... many times. If I had, I could definitely imagine a downward spiral like this one. Oh yeah... I've tilted off this much money before. I can relate. However, I think that I've learned from those experiences. Almost always when I tilted big, I was playing outside my bankroll. Now I play much smaller than my bankroll allows and it laugh at the donk plays that cost me money. I can't wait for those calls/bets the next time cause I know that based on the principal of EV, I actually made money on the hand, I just haven't collected yet.
