Basic premise is a group of mixed martial arts fighters that want to enter the UFC go to a training camp type set up. When they get there they are split into two teams, with guys from different weight divisions (like 2 heavyweights, 2 middle weights etc per team). The teams are coached by two well known fighters from UFC. At the end, the winners from each weight division get a "six figure UFC contract." So I tuned into to about the second half of last season, and now I'm kind of hooked. This season promises to be fairly interesting. They've got 2 guys from the UK in the training camp, the first time someone from Europe has made the cut. Also, a deaf kid (that I'm absolutely rooting for since he's been labeled as the big underdog, but has much heart). Furthermore, the teams are coached by Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz, which should provide some serious fireworks this season. Anybody else watch this show?

Addicted to it.It's hands down the best of the "fighting" reality shows. Unlike "The Contender" or DeLaHoya's attempt, this one shows the whole fight. I think it's a great show.I don't know if the Shamrock-Ortiz thing was a great idea. Fighters often end up switching teams, and with two coaches who don't like each other, it might become a problem.

I am a huge fan of the show, I've watched it since season 1. I think these coaches aren't even near as good as the ones they have had the past two seasons. I would love to see a Gracie be a coach. I don't have any favorites yet. One thing I was glad to see was that they got rid of those stupid challenges.

love the show. only 1 of 2 shows that i never miss (other being the shield)The concept is so good, but you start to wonder how much of it is just for tv. Ultimate guy show. anyone that has lived with multiple roomates for a long time know how bad you want to kill each other at some point and sometimes try.

So far I would tend to have to agree, Franklin and Hughes were actually coaches. Tito seems like he's really trying to bring these guys abilities to the next level, but I'm not so sure about Shamrock. I don't know about Gracie though. It would be tough to get across his ground game in that short of time frame I think. But it would still be cool simply because Gracie is the f-ing man! As he said ufc is the house that Royce built.

not really a fan. As a fan of the UFC since its inception in 93, this show just breeds a larger, ignorant fanbase. Example: the loudest cheers at the past UFC 59 for Forrest Griffin. I watched some of season 1, none of 2, and a couple more this year. But I watch for different purposes; as an MMA fighter, I like to catch glimpses of guys like Dean Lister rolling on the mat. Not sure the guys on Ortiz' team know just how fortunate they are to have training partners of that caliber. If Frank Shamrock coached, which he won't, I'd watch. or a guy like Jeremy Horn.

Hmmm sounds familiar, of course the larger more ignorant fan base that poker shows breed, don't throw some sloppy punch to my nads. Just sloppy calls to suckout with. As an MMA fighter, don't you think that these guys are still getting invaluable advice though? I mean sure the "coaches" may not necessarily be the guys you'd want running your training for a title shot. However, a lot of these guys seem to be in the very early stages of their careers, with records like 5-2, or 4-0. At that level, advice and training from guys that have "been there...done that" for years has to be a gigantic benefit. I admit, I kind of dropped of my interest in UFC for quite a while, but once I started up with martial arts again, I got hooked again. So I may be one of those "ignorant" fans. However, while I may not have a full grasp of everything, I can appreciate the technical and physical abilities it takes to do that stuff. Ignorance can be remedied but stupid is forever

I suppose I am an "ignorant fan", but what is wrong with Forrest Griffin? Is exposure really a bad thing?

I really like this show, mostly for the fighting(obviously). Does anyone know what day/time this comes on? because I always seem to miss it. I have a good feeling that Tito's team is going to win it all. I don't really like the guy but he just seems like an awesome coach.

Yeah he does. He's really training those guys and it shows. Shamrock seems like he's awol a lot. Maybe it was just the way the show was edited, but Shamrock's team seems to have a ton of down time, and doesn't seem to be training (cardio especially) as much. Most of Shamrock's work out sessions seem to be him trying to make a speech. Also, after watching Shamrock and Tito do the back and forth this week, Tito definitely has a psychological advantage.

It's on Thursdays at 10 est. on MXC.
I thought MXC was a show, and Spike was a channel.

I like this season so far more than any others, probably because I'm anticipating a bloodbath of a match between Tito and Shamrock. Shamrock seems like he wants his team members to step out of line so he can beat their asses.

Tito is going to destroy Shamrock when they fight. I really want to see this deaf kid fight, I forgot his name, but they've spent a lot of story lines on him. I hope he's not a disappointment.

I was cracking up when Shamrock confronted Tito. He looked so foolish. The best part was that Tito kept quiet and basically just laughed him off.Shamrock is going to get pumelled in July!

Shamrock isn't as bad as you guys think. Supposively he was suffering several injuries when he got dominated by tito. And actually a couple months before that i saw shamrock completely dominating in a Pride fight. I think he has a good chance of beating tito.

Don't see that happening. As Ken get's older, I see him getting some very bad beatings put on him. Tito his going to work him over!

Me too, you can tell the kid has a ton of heart just watching him workout. It would be awesome if he went out there and dominated.*edit* Just watched tonights episode and....Noah = dumbassThat kid is gonna regret that decision the rest of his life, and even if he stays with that chick he's gonna grow to resent her for it.

Yeah dude, so many things in that episode disappointed me. Noah threw away a once in a lifetime opportunity. Matt is just now learning how to take a hit. And on top of that they are bringing a defeated contestant back which is unfair to everyone else. And there wasn't even a fight at the end of the episode.

I love how Dana was talking to Noah (don't be an idot and ruin this). Dana wasn't sparing any punches with him. They sure are hying Matt (deaf guy), I hope he pans out in the ring. With all the camera time he gets they have to be setting it up for something.

Yeah that was great, and exactly what that idiot needed to hear, but he didn't listen. Him walking out on this show would be like a protege finalist deciding halfway through the tourney they were giving up poker to take up competitive tiddly winks (yes such a "sport" does exist).I think they should do a "where are they now?" type episode in the next year or two. It would be hilarious to see that dude married to some obese baby factory and shoveling cow flops for a living....I hope it's not the guy from New Orleans (can't remember his name) that they bring back. That guy was seriously owned in his fight, he had NOTHIN.

I am wondering who it is too. I assume it has to be a middleweight and none of them have impressed me that much.

I finally saw this. Wow! Noah's got issues. For being such an idiot, I hope he ends up in a trailer. As for the deaf guy, he has potential, but I have a feeling that if he runs into a skilled BJJ fighter he's in trouble.
