blakheart 3
I am going to be in Sacremento in June and I was wondering if there any good card rooms in the area? Any recommendations from FCP?ThanksWhat is your game? The Lucky Derby runs 4-8 limit and a spread limit game with 2-3 blinds and a max bet of $200. They also run 6-12 o8b. The limit game is a typical no foldem holdem game, the 08b is pretty tight and the spread limit game is very beatable. The phonex runs 4-8 limit and 10-20 limit. They will feed you if you are there during luch, the food is pretty good.Just up the hill in Auburn dueces wild runs a true no limit game- $100 min buyin $500 max. My favorite, a very easy game that plays pretty big. What part of town are you going to be in? I live in Roseville just north of Sacramento. I know there are other casinos (the capital downtown is pretty popular) bit these are the ones I play.
MasterLJ 0
blak has good suggestions.I play a lot at Derby. You also have Cache Creek and Jackson Rancheria within a 1 hour drive. But Derby really is better =).
No_Neck 0
I am not really sure, my girlfriends grandparents play there, and apparently we are going to have the evenings off so I might have to make it out to a cardoom casino.I will be in Davis, Ca.

The previous posters are correct though, the extra drive to Lucky Derby can be worth it. I don't mind either place though. If you play limit, Capitol is a good bet - I believe they still run their games with a half kill.

blakheart 3
half kill? so like a 4-8 becomes a 6-12?Yeah- If obe player wins 2 pots in a row the game becomes 6-12 for the next pot. Derby does it as well.

Were you playing there till 6:30am a couple fridays ago? I met a guy from roseville that was playing pretty good, there were two donks to the right of us, one drunk of his a-ss and the other just overly aggressive. Anyway, If you want NL go to auburn the place is awesome and there are fish up there. I dont go to capitol or lucky derby because I hear ppl play too serious at those places which i assume means tighter money. There is a 3-6 game downtown on J and Alhambra at Limelight I have frequented. A place in Rancho Cordova that spreads 3-6, 9-18, and NL on Wed. called blackjack casino. In folsom there is a cardroom in a bowling alley I forget the name spreads limit 2-4, 4-8, or you can talk ppl bigger and on Tues NL.For tournies with half way decent structures is blackjack in Rancho 50 bucks with no entry fee, 20 min. levels. Every other place will vary with buy in and entry fee but you will never get more than 15 min. mostly 12 min levels. PM me if you want to meet up at a place.

I went on a sick run right near the end of my last session where I turned $80 bucks into about $650 in 10 hands. A buddy of mine lives up there (and is a terrible player btw) and I go up with him sometimes. I played a tournement at the limelight once, worst structure I have ever seen. How is the 3-6 game there? If you like NL, the Deby isn't horrible, but it
Alex916F 0
The guy next to me had a beard looke like he was about 21 I had a burly red beard i am about 24. We all played till 6:30 in the morning. I was asking the guy to my left who said he was from roseville if he played on the net things like that. Was that you? The drunk guy was just going off and the guy on my left and I pretty much cleaned him out and took quite a bit from the dude on my direct right. Maybe I should check out the derby. Does spread limit play like NL but the max bet is 200?At limelight i dont think I have ever been in a game where i thought it was tough. I am not super proficient in limit so over all i am a small winner in their games. They do have a half-kill game. on fridays i have heard of ppl playing late and getting the stakes up to 5-10 which makes my mouth water because i know that they are likely to be very poor players. The derby plays like NL, the just cap the bet on any street at $200. pretty close to NL.

I believe that there were 12 tables and they offer $3/$6, $4/$8 full kill and nl 2/4 blinds with min. $100 and max. $200. Certain days of the week they will pay you $100 if your pocket A's get cracked.

Alex-was the guy from Roseville a tall guy about 30? He is another buddy of mine and he told me about a wild 4 handed session he played a couple of weeks ago that lasted all night. One of the dealers was also playing in that one.
MasterLJ 0
Cache Creek is near Davis. I am going there end of month, I can let you know what the poker room is like then. Anyone else been to cache creek?Yes. It's soft. $100 max buy in $1/$2 gameand a 300-500 max buy in $2/$5 game. soft. But I must comment because I just got back from Derby.MP bets out the standard $25.I'm in the BB with AQ. I call.Flop is Q 10 8, 2 clubs. I hold the ace of clubs.I check, the other 2 in the hand check to the original bettor.bettor bets out $40, I raise him $200. He looks at his cards and calls.Turn is 5 hearts.I push the rest in. He calls.River is a Jack of spades. He flips over, AJos.Yes that's right... AJ. He's drawing dead to a King or running jacks on the flop there.Play the TAGest TAG you've ever played and/or be a nut peddler and the $100 cab ride will be worth it.Where will you be staying?
