jhub30 0
This question is mainly directed towards those who have a good amount of experience playing both SNGs & cash games. My stats after over 1,000 SNGs 4 tableing the $38 6 max on Stars are: 24% ROI, $40 hourly rate. I make .18BB/hand in level 1. I'm not sure if the last # is of much use as it is obviously inflated due to the # of donks in level 1. I was wondering if you guys think I could make more $ playing 6 max cash games? I know it will take some adjusting but I LOVE 6 handed & Stars doesn't offer non turbo 6 handed higher than $38. Any comments would be appreciated.
budfox427 0
I would play a large sample of hands at low limit full ring NL cash games before I jusmped right from being a SNG specialist into 6-max. 6-max has a TON of vairiance, and you will more than likely take a large hit to your roll making the transition. SNG players most of the time carry the tournament style play over a bit into their cash game play, and it eats them alive. At least I did.For examples, watch high stakes poker and see what happens to Phil Hellmuth.I would get a good win rate at the lower limits and then move to 6-max. But that is just me. copernicus 0
All you can do is try it. There is a different emphasis in skill sets for cash games vs tournament games, and it may be that your tourney skills are whats carrying you to a nice earnings rate, not your card skills, especially post flop play, which is far more important in cash games. If you are getting bored thats one thing. If you arent happy with the earnings rate I would probably move up in SnG buy ins even if you have to switch sites. $55 and $77 SnGs arent any tougher than $33s at PArty, and I think they have "speed" tables at the higher buy ins. Watch out for the bots though.

copernicus 0
Do you mean "push-bots" ??mmmm...probably not. "Push-bots" has become a way to describe a person who's only decision (at least at some relatively early point in the game) is push or fold.My generic "Bot" was meant to refer to computer players (which may also have only a push or fold strategy, or apparently a 9x.xx% of stack or fold strategy.
